Thanks[edit]
Heys thanks for following up with that anon about my messages to him about that post on the barbas talk. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 08:01, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
- No need to thank me, LE, most of what I'm supposed to do is keep the new users and the annons in userspace, friendly. Not policing, but still. Going through userspace, is sort of what I'm supposed to do, but thanks. It's a thankless job, most of the time, but someone has to do it.--Br3admax (talk) 08:09, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
Reaper Gems[edit]
Hey Br3admax it is 3 gems you need, there are 3 specific fragments that you have to find. Each spawns in 2 different fixed locations. So you can end up with six gems but only 3 are needed to release the Reaper. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 19:11, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
- The article says that they come in pairs, so I assumed it was a mistake. I do not have Dawnguard(and will not be getting it for the forseeable future), so if you know something I don't change it. But the article says they come in pairs.--Br3admax (talk) 19:16, 24 November 2012 (GMT)

- Ok just wanted to let you know before undoing your change. Yeah they come in pairs in the sense that there are 2 spawn locations for each of the 3 different fragments. But you only need one set of them to release the reaper. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 19:18, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
The Gray Maybe[edit]
Maybe I'm missing something here, but the PGE chapter Arena Supermundus that I cited in my edit clearly states that Mundus is also known as the Gray Maybe. I gave evidence to support my edit. Your reverting of my edit was unsupported. If you cannot support your claim that "Mundas is not the Gray Maybe Aetherius/Oblivion is", as you stated in your Edit Summary, would you mind please undoing your revert of my edit and returning it to the way it was. However, if you can back up your claim with a citation that repudiates my citation, I will happily acquiesce. As we know, TES lore can sometimes be self-contradictory. – Daric↝talk 06:00, 19 February 2013 (GMT)
- I have looked into this a little further, and I see that, according to The_Monomyth, the Gray Maybe is actually Nirn. On the Sithis lore page of the wiki, a comment attributed to The Monomyth appears to associate the Gray Maybe with the Aurbis page of the wiki, which in turn cites The Monomyth, claiming Aurbis (and thus the Gray Maybe) to be "encompassing the Void, Oblivion, the Lands of Aetherius, Mundus and the Outer Realms." Both of these pages, Lore:Sithis and Lore:Aurbis cite the in-game book The_Monomyth as their source, yet that book specifically states that Nirn, the planet of the Elder Scrolls world, is the Gray Maybe. From what I can see, one book states that that the Grey Maybe is the planet, while the other states that it is, essentially, outer space, in which the planet is suspended. A classic example of my earlier statement about self-contradictory lore. – Daric↝talk 06:28, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

- It actually says Nirn is the Gray Center, not the Gray Maybe.--Br3admax (talk) 11:56, 19 February 2013 (GMT)
- Wow, thanks for pointing that out. In the last sentence of the second paragraph of The_Monomyth, it says "In the middle is the Gray Maybe ('Nirn' in the Ehlnofex)." Later in the same book, under the section heading The Myth of Aurbis, the second paragraph reads "’Aurbis’ is used to connote the imperceptible Penumbra, the Gray Center between the IS/IS NOT of Anu and Padomay." So it would appear that perhaps the quotation on the Sithis lore page of the wiki should perhaps be amended to read as '"Gray Center"' for Aurbis, instead of '"Gray Maybe"', maybe. What do you think? Seems like that would begin to redress some of the confusion anyway. – Daric↝talk 12:57, 19 February 2013 (GMT)
- I'm still not certain about my facts here, and this has been a fascinating look at the deeper lore of the Elder Scrolls. What I have recently ascertained is that both the "Gray Maybe" and the "Gray Center" are synonymous terms for the space between Anu and Padomay, between Is and Is Not. Within this gap (for want of a better word) we find everything, including the Void, Oblivion, Aetherius, Mundus (and thereby, Nirn), and the Outer Realms. I have learned from this that things are not as black and white as they appear in print. Thanks for pulling me up on this. I still have a lot to learn about the TES Lore! – Daric↝talk 14:27, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

Invitation to join a translating team.[edit]
You are invited to join a team that will be attempting to translate the unknown language on the Word Wall in the 6th Chapter of the Black Book Waking Dreams, the Word Wall that gives the third word ( D3V ) of the Dragon Aspect shout. There are strange, moving words behind the Dragon Language text on the Wall, written in an unrecognisable language. The Dragon Language part of the Word Wall has already been translated. It is the moving words in the unrecognisable language that this project hopes to translate.
This project will be happening in my sandbox, which is open to collaboration by invited team members. The talk page of the sandbox is open to other contributors as well. I hope to see you get involved in the project. I have hand-picked you because you may have previously been involved in Elder Scrolls language translations in the past on the wiki, particularly if you worked on the Magic Script Alphabet or the Elder Alphabet pages.
Kind regards,
Daric Gaersmith

Nazir WIP[edit]
Hi, Br3admax. You've had your WIP tags on the Skyrim:Nazir and Skyrim:Skjor articles for awhile. Are you still working on these? --Xyzzy Talk 17:00, 12 May 2013 (GMT)
- I had to leave for school related purposes. I'll finish the Nazir one, but I'm not so sure about Skjor. It's not that large, and school is over, pretty much; I'll probably finish it before Saturday, though.--Br3admax (talk) 00:13, 24 May 2013 (GMT)
On Etymology[edit]
Hi, I saw that you undid my note on Gauldur's name meaning. I was wondering, should it still be added because it's directly relevant to the character (he was an Archmage)? The articles Farkas and Vilkas, and Honningbrew Meadery have their name meanings too, and the meanings connect with what/who they are. --Quill-Tail (talk) 17:16, 26 May 2013 (GMT)
- I don't know, from what I've seen in my time here, such things are generally not allowed. I'll ask around, but generally that's something I never seen us do. We don't never had such "trivia" like things before.--Br3admax (talk) 17:18, 26 May 2013 (GMT)
-
- It's generally allowed so long as it can be shown that the name choice was possibly deliberate (e.g. Farkas and Vilkas). Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:37, 26 May 2013 (GMT)
