Vos was a village located in the northeast corner of Vvardenfell, in the province of Morrowind. The settlement was historically occupied by Velothi farmers who grew marshmerrow and wickwheat, and faced constant harassment from Ashlander raiders.[1] The town had also been territory of House Telvanni, whether it was under the mage-lords of Tel Mora to the east or Tel Vos to the west.[1][2]
History[edit]
When Vos was built is unknown, however, the Velothi have farmed its lands for centuries. Likewise, when its longest-known ruler, Mistress Dratha of Tel Mora first had this claim is also unknown but by the late Third Era, she was considered the oldest member of House Telvanni.[3] At an unknown time, one of the mythical luminaries called the Netch appeared on Vvardenfell and various tales of unusual luck began to spread en masse. One such story was when a child ran away from Vos to nearby Esutanamus, where they were surrounded by monsters. The Netch saved the boy's life by turning them into hens. After the search party found him, they held a feast and ate the chickens.[4]
In 2E 582, House Hlaalu worked with the Telvanni wizard Savarak Fels to kill Mistress Dratha, and take over Tel Mora and Vos. They first poisoned Tel Mora's tower, leaving Dratha incapacitated. And with the Telvanni Council's support afterward, Savarak became Vos' magistrate. Savarak received funding from House Hlaalu and soldiers from the Black Snails mercenary group, with Selvil Island as their meeting ground. After their scheme was exposed, Dratha's mouth, Llayne Sadri contacted the Telvanni Council and with guards uprooted all of Vos to arrest Savarak. Before he could escape, he was defeated by an Outlander helping Llayne Sadri on Selvil Island.[5]
By the late Third Era, Master Aryon of Tel Vos became the new Lord of Vos and helped develop the settlement. With his powers, he protected the villagers from raiders and used mycoturgy to build the new tradehouse[1] owned by its Imperial publican Burcanius Varo,[6] and the village's docks.[1] Maela Kaushad, a wise woman was named Vos' hetwoman.[7][8] What became of Vos throughout the rest of the Third Era is unknown but in 4E 5, the Red Year as it is remembered, Red Mountain erupted and destroyed most of Vvardenfell. A relief effort was organized to restore settlements that were hit the hardest but whether Vos was rebuilt or abandoned is unknown.[9][10]
Known Rulers[edit]
For the longest time, Vos and its environs had been ruled by Mistress Dratha of nearby Tel Mora.[2] In the mid-Second Era, Mistress Dratha was poisoned and confined in her tower. In the meantime, Savarak Fels became the Magistrate of Vos.[5] By the late Third Era, Master Aryon of Tel Vos became the town's new mage-lord.[1][11]
Much like other villages in Morrowind such as Marog and Gnisis, a village elder known as a hetman is appointed as its administrative leader. These hetman can also act as stewards to their respective House lords.[12][13]

Notes[edit]
- Even with the Tribunal Temple's presence in Vos' chapel, a target of Almsivi Intervention would not be sent to Vos but instead the nearest shrine on Vvardenfell, that being the temple in Ald'ruhn.[14]
