Season Unending[edit]
Hi everyone,
I was just playing on Skyrim on the quest Season Unending, part of the main quest, when General Tullius mentioned compensation for a supposed "Massacre at Karthwasten.
General Tullius and Ulfric Stormcloak don't really get along well during the peace negotiation that you have to take part in if you haven't completed the Battle for Whiterun in the Civil war to further the quest The Fallen.
I've been to Karthwasten a couple of times and I only remember beating up a few mercenaries, and no-one has ever mentioned a massacre there.
If anyone has any clues or suggestions about this, add a section here for discussion on the topic or send me an email.
P.S.
I might put the email up in a couple of weeks because I need to start contributing to Skyrim instead of reading up on past history, (Oblivion and Morrowind) and looking for merchant chests on u-tube.
Many Thanks,
Jambo.

Welcome :)[edit]
Hello Jamie the Dark Elf! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Help Contents: a list of in-depth Help pages
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! —Snowmane(talk•email) 17:59, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks to Skyrimplayer[edit]
Thanks,
I would guess that you are probably right.
I mean, I don't do side quests!
Thx
Okay screw the signing it's too hard to do on an IPad...
- Jamie, there is a signing button at the top of the editing section. Just press it and it should sign. Or type "~" four times. Which ever is easier.Br3admax 18:24, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- He means these ~ ~ ~ ~.But don't put spaces between them.--Skyrimplayer 18:26, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Why no spaces?
- Because it will only work together. Sorry, I didn't mean to sign twice. I'll fix it.Br3admax 18:33, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Helpus Maximus[edit]
Yo people of the world,
...................I guess...help for the newbie would be nice :)
- What kind of help do you need?Br3admax 18:36, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Whoa.Whoa.Whoa.Watch the editing.Try the Getting Started and the Help pages for info.Or try contacting a mentor.--Skyrimplayer 18:37, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
What's wrong with the editing and who is a mentor I'm not exactly great at this because I've never become a member of a website before.
I need to know how to do stuff like decorate my User page. Thx.
- Every single edit you make here must be patrolled. If it is a user page, a userspace patroller, such as myself, must go through and make sure it's ok. If it is in the game pages, Recent Changes Patrollers must go through the pages and make sure that they are of wiki quality. It's ok to edit, just do not do it as fast, and use the preview button.--Br3admax 18:48, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- The editing comment was a pun on what guards say to you in Skyrim if you use magic. For mentors there is a link where you were welcomed. There is also a link for userboxes on your welcome as well.Just slow down.To amny edits means more work for the patrollers.I'm not one of them though.--Skyrimplayer 18:48, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
When you make links in UESP just type Namespace:page name|what you want the link to read all inside [[]]. See I can make Oblivion be The game that came out before Skyrim, it's pretty cool! Play it!.--Br3admax 19:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Dawnguard[edit]
Hi people,
This new section of my ever awesome page is dedicated to (drum roll) DAWNGUARD WOOHOOO.
It is all about people wanting help and tips about Dawnguard, because I have played it about three times over.
OKAY START TYPING NOW :)
Oblivion[edit]
Hi dudes and dudettes,
This page is dedicated to (no drum roll this time :( because I can't be bothered to write it hehehe...)
OBLIVION yeah yay yippie so yes let's get down to business.
I'm getting Oblivion this weekend so I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips but no spoilers cause I don't want someone to spoil the game by telling me that the Septim family have really mucked up this time and that the Mythic Dawn sucks for mucking it up and don' t forget to mention
MEHRUNES DAGON YUKKIE!!!
So no SPOILERS OR DEATH :)
- Normally, I would tell you to slow done on the editing, because of the need to patrol them all. Please, slow down. That said, I believe there are some links on the Oblivion page that help with effective leveling, and tips on combat.--Br3admax 18:44, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks man, sorry for extra work. What do you do? Are you a patroller and whaddya do?
- He is a patroller, who checks the Recent Changes and edits out all vandalism.--Skyrimplayer 18:50, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Nope, just a userspace patroller. It's the same, but for user pages and talk pages for those user pagesBr3admax 18:53, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- (Slaps self in face for giving wrong explanation)--Skyrimplayer 18:55, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Hohoho trol lol lol
So, who do you serve if ya get what I mean, and will they know if you don't check stuff, and am I violating your rules or anything? It'd be nice to know how you know a comment gets posted anyway and how to get a job.
THX AGAIN
JAMBOREE what the heck that was so spellcheck... But it sticks!
- Well there are adminastrators. But the person who created the site was Daveh.--Skyrimplayer 19:31, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Have you read my awesome glitch page? You should add to it!
Glitches that have happened, to me and to everyone[edit]
1: In the Thalmor Embassy during the quest there, there is a thieves guild prisoner being interrogated by the Thalmor.
My brother was on his profile, and let's just say he has a bit of a thing about massacres.
I would say that he has killed at least over half of the people in the game. Even added replacements from victims of his dragonbone warhammmer.
A countless other victims have had the disfortune to meet my brother, the last thing this thieves guild prisoner saw before he was sent to Aetherius was a big red Daedric dude raising a big dragon club over his head and the headless body of a Thalmor soldier.
This was when the lagging started.
My brother undid the shackles and the guy's body half fell halfway into the floor and started spazzing out seriously.
This went on for about another minute when my brother decided enough was enough and took the info he needed from a chest next to the cell.
After a couple more minutes dealing with the thalmor and saving Malborn, he went to escape and thought he saw something in the corner of his eye.
The spazzed-out prisoner.
He put the poor soul out of his misery by shouting his specialty words of power.
"FUS-RO DAH"
Pretty impressive, right?
Races[edit]
Hey, guys and gals,
I'm just going to go through with you all of the cool races and make a top 10 of them.
1: It just has to be the Wood Elf. Just.
They make the best class because they make the best theives, archers and assassins.
They are great thieves because of their light armour, lockpicking, pickpocket and sneak skills because they can move around discreetly. This also helps the character to be a better assassin, as they can often get good sneak damage bonuses from long ranges with powerful bow skills. They also make great archers, because of their good alchemy ability to taint their already deadly bows with poison to make them even deadlier.
And don't forget-these guys live in TREES.
2: Narrowly missing out on first place is the Dunmer, or Dark Elf.
Forum-like Posts[edit]
Okay, I understand.
Maybe I should open up a poll on the forum about Races if I'm allowed or even know how to.
I'm sure I'll understand in a couple of weeks.
Can I carry on with my Races section though? Because I like writing and reading.
Thx.
Edit. Edit. Edit.
What do you have to do to get noticed here....
Wiki Business[edit]
What is it and how am I supposed to talk about it here if I don't know what it is?
No patrollers have contacted me for around an hour.
Oh no.
- It is basically just discussing things that are related to the wiki. Please don't just post to gain attention :( If you want to talk try to forums or IRC — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 07:59, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Wow that was quick.

Welcoming[edit]
Hey everyone,
Just messaging out to the world on the topic of online activity or something.
I joined yesterday and was welcomed instantly into the website by Eric Snowmane
However, my brother also joined yesterday and is called Harry the Argonian.
He has not received a welcome message from anyone so far, and I was just wondering if anyone would message him to help him out.
Cheers,
JAMBOREE!!!
- We only usually welcome people who have at least made one edit. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 08:36, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Question[edit]
Are you saying I annoy you or I don't annoy you?--Skyrimplayer 19:53, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
You don't. I respect you.
- If you want to help out,I am currently trying to add the inventories for NPCs in Skyrim,or you could help me out in my sandbox.Where I am making creature combat strategies.--Skyrimplayer 19:56, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks? I guess. Not everyone is nice. Could you stick a link on for me as I'm editing this and I don't know if yOu put one on as I can't see that at the moment.
- Not to be "annoying", but you can't really call anyone out like that on your user page. I may be wrong, but it is best if you keep the user page about you, not how some of the patrollers are mean. We respect all of the users here. This isn't a threat, i do not have any power at all, but lets keep it all clean and be nice.--Br3admax 19:59, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
And what makes you think I don't respect you either? You're cool.
- Here you go,just suggest your idea on the talk page first.--Skyrimplayer 20:02, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
I'll have a look at whose inventories you wrote down, then I'll add some.
- Oh wait the link I gave you was for my strategies.Try this link to see what I did,and you might want someone to give you a link to the CSlist.--Skyrimplayer 20:06, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Okay that looks good and cool.
Warning[edit]
Your latest edit, posted to your userpage, is border-line insulting other users, and personal attacks are grounds for immediate administrative action. You have been previously notified as well that your edits have been disruptive to other editors' abilities to work, so any further disruptions will result in you being blocked from editing. —Snowmane(talk•email) 20:02, 10 August 2012 (UTC) |
Hey snowball dude?
Sorry snow bane spellcheck
Do you post an appeal or whatever on the admin notification page to get a block or ban because I've seen it.
- You know you are'nt blocked right? The user who was blocked can appeal the block on their talk page.--Skyrimplayer 20:13, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) If you are blocked from the site, you are allowed to appeal, but you haven't been blocked, so an appeal is unnecessary. This is just a warning. Snowmane(talk•email) 20:14, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
I guess I just want to let someone know my feelings about the site without threat of bans or warnings.
Someone with authority.
- And, you are free to say what you want about the site, as long as you don't say anything meant to be insulting towards another user. If you wanted to say "I don't like the layout of the site or the parchment design" or something. That's fine. But, saying "RandomUser123 is annoying" or something, that is an insult directly towards another user, which is unacceptable. Snowmane(talk•email) 20:19, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
You know what?
- I have a bad feeling about this.--Skyrimplayer 20:21, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Send emails, then. But you can't attack someone on the wiki. Not on the forums, not in chat, and especially not here. You can help the wiki, or you can chat on how funny the game is in the forums. Daveh makes the rules, and I think he likes them the way they are. It's a fine system, and the forums button is right there. Let it stop now, there is not point to this,--Br3admax 20:22, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Wow I love it when you guys get it wrong.
I just want Eric to acknowledge me so I can say somerthing important.

That's all I want really. Thank you :) Snowmane(talk•email) 20:36, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
Deal. Where is this button?
Right next to the "Save page" button. Snowmane(talk•email) 20:38, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
What exactly does it do?
- What the name says. It shows a preview of what the edit will look like so that you can change it without saving the page and posting an edit to Recent Changes. Snowmane(talk•email) 20:41, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
-
- You are still not using Show Preview. By not doing so, you have managed to make a fairly large number of edits that could had easily had been made in one. This has caused Recent Changes to largely be dominated by your series of small editions to your talk page posts. There is absolutely no rush to make an edit or post a reply to a talk page. You should take the time to read over our guide to Getting Started and the Help Files. Also, I sincerely suggest that you join the forums or the IRC, as casual discussions and discussions about the games not relating to wiki work are generally frowned on here as being unnecessary. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:32, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

- I'm "bothering" with you as it is the duty of an administrator to take care of the site the administrate. Please stop making unnecessary consecutive edits as they can be seen as disruptive. Furthermore, you should probably consider actually editing to add content to our content articles, instead of chatting with other users. If you want to continue to chat as you have been, please go to the forums and IRC provided. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:43, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Problem[edit]
Hello,
I cant seem to get onto the forums or IRC,
I have been informed that asking a mentor is the best thing to do.
Please may someone provide me with a link to one?
Thank you.

Ok, well, no one else is available and then the one person I did talk to hasn't replied yet.
I use my talk page frequently because I haven't been able to get my posts to appear in the forums and I don't know why.
The same happens with IRC-to me, it's deserted.
Could you help out?

Hey I just saw that you're having problems registering for the forums. Can you try this link and see if it works? Advice[edit]
Hey Jamie. Can I ask you to slow down? You've made about 8 edits within seconds of each other,it's clogging up the recent changes.Try to keep all your changes compacted into oneedit. If you know what I mean.I'm not good with wording.--Skyrimplayer 17:56, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just found the user box templates. :)
- It's fun to add userboxes to your page, I'm glad to hear you found them. Just keep in mind, you can add them all at the same time, rather than adding them each one by one. This would help with the issue Skyrimplayer is talking about. You can also click the "Show preview" button (right next to the "Save page" button) to see what it looks like, without losing any of your changes. It's a nice feature. :) ABCface◥ 18:00, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, I just added a few Of my Thane Holds.
Show Preview[edit]
Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. —ThuumofReason 18:57, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes I know what it is.
Just spicing up my user page so people can understand my hate for Thalmor.
-
- And that's okay, but maybe instead of making a bunch of extra work for us, you could make all those additions to your page at once? You say you know what it is, but have you tried using it? The only reason I ask is because even after being asked multiple times, this is still an issue. We didn't point that out to say it's there if you want to use it; we're saying please use it. If you don't, you just end up creating a lot of hassle for other users. We're not scolding you or saying you're being unconstructive on purpose, we're asking that you please use the show preview button, as it makes our jobs a lot easier. ThuumofReason 19:04, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Most people have a go at me.
You don't seem like one of those people.
That's good.
Hang on,
You claim that you try to maintain Daggerfall pages, but you deleted a large majority of one, Check his page for COMPLAINTS this is a fact don't have a go at me for this. I'm trying to show you something.
Seems like you annoy a lot of people.
You're not even a patroller.
- Jaime, stop. Everybody is just trying to help you, but you continually do not use the Show Preview button, you do not sign your posts, and they are often dissrespectful to other people. Thuum's status is not in question here, asking you to ease off and help others by saving only when you are done is something anyone can do. From this point it is not a question of asking you to behave and follow the guidelines provided, I am telling you to follow them. The Silencer speaksTalk 19:23, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've said what I wanted to say, and I said it in a polite way. But even my patience has limits. Other users would consider remarks like that to be unconstructive, and considering that you've made almost no constructive edits yourself in the short time you've been here, I'm not sure you're exactly in a position to be judging the contributions of others. Instead of just taking my advice, you searched through my user page and talk page for things you thought you could use to discredit me. That doesn't exactly reflect well on the continuing existence of your account here on UESP. My sincere advice to you is to read the style guide and learn how to make constructive edits to the site rather than trolling for attention if you don't want one of the administrators to block your account permanently. ThuumofReason 19:26, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Hey YOU BACK OFF! I judge others as I see fit because I feel the need to because I feel that I cant trust others here.
"You searched through my user page and talk page for things you thought you could use to discredit me" blah blah blah well you know that's not true so stop acting like you don't know it.
Well have you seen his record?
And no offense whatsoever, but you're not an admin.
And you aren't a patroller, even.
So no disrespect, but you can't tell me what to do.
That's just human rights.
- Jamie, Thuum is one of our active editors who, unlike you, knows and follows the rules. He has been here for ages, and he has every right to tell you to follow policy. ES(talk•email) 21:21, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
This is pointless.
Sorry but I don't understand that Kiz,
- (edit conflict) Jamie, we are aware of Thuum's past, but we are not talking about Thuum, we are talking about YOU. He may have had a rocky beginning, but he is still an upstanding editor, so arguing about him is not productive. If you decide to continue talking garbage about Thuum and picking arguments, remember the block button is one click away. You were previously warned... Twice, so the next smart-mouthed remark towards Thuum is going down as a personal attack, and you'll be blocked. ES(talk•email) 21:30, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
I feel threatened for some reason...
-
- You have just, yourself, said This is pointless. But then you continue it, you have been told multiple times to use show preview when editing your userpage. You have made 3 content edits, and 160 fluff edits (talkpage or userspace) which means you have wasted more of Patrollers' time then you have actually constructively contributed. You have been warned, twice, for your behaviour. But you fail to take either of those seriously, stop making attacks on useful editors as a means to defend yourself. Stop making dozens of unneeded edits to your userpage and wasting mine and others time. If you are going to contribute constructively, do it. Otherwise, leave. Failing to choose either of those, will (most likely) result in a ban. --kiz talkemail 21:35, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
It is pointless, because I'm getting nowhere.
I am smart, y'know.
Oh and I feel offended.
How do I defend myself?
Welli can't issue a warning.
Might as well let it carry on. :4
Final Warning[edit]
This could be seen as a personal attack against ThuumofReason. This sort of behavior is not tolerated. If you continue to abuse your editing privilages, this account will be blocked. ——Legoless 19:30, 16 August 2012 (UTC) |
ThuumofReason is right to advise you to use the Show Preview feature, as your mass editing causes a problem for patrollers. You have already been warned against insulting other users; further personal attacks will result in a block. —Legoless 19:30, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

An Explanation[edit]
I think you need to understand something vital about this site and why you were blocked. It isn't intended for socializing. Well, at least not this part of it. This wiki exists to provide a collaborative base to improve knowledge on the Elder Scrolls franchise. Yes, people will of course chat with each other and make friends along the way, but that's not why we're here mainly. We're primarily here to improve a guide. To put it bluntly, I don't think you're in the right portion of this site. You should stick to the forums or the chatrooms. If you can't do that, I would suggest that you almost entirely cut out all editing in any talk namespace or in the user namespace. As of now, you've only made three editions within any other namespace, out of 178 edits. One content edit for about every 60 other edits isn't a very good record.
The reason people are getting aggravated at you is that they don't like to see a massive number of editions that don't serve a purpose towards improving the site, as well as being ignored. Since many members of the active userbase are some form of staffer, almost everyone you've ignored the advice and warnings of have either been entrusted or feel invested towards improving and maintaining this site. It's as simple as that. You've managed to make this task so much more difficult for all of these users, while constantly ignoring their suggestions that would of avoided any conflict. Furthermore, attacking other users was what truly drove them over the line. It's one thing to be ignored, another to be insulted. So it is quite understandable why people may had lost their cool with you like you did with them.
Let's be entirely clear here, there have been a fair enough number of entirely polite warnings to cease this behavior and directions on how to access other areas of the site that tolerate other kinds of behavior that continuing to behave as you did on the wiki can only be seen as a sign that you were ignoring them. ABC gave you clear guidelines about how to access that forums and chatroom, Krusty explained why this was annoying others, Legoless formally warned you to stop, Thuum gave you a perfectly reasonable and polite request to stop, I personally asked you to stop while also suggesting you put your energy towards helping the site, and Snowmane warned you previously. This is a long (and incomplete!) list of attempts made to avoid this.
In response to all of this, you've frequently made chains of edits that could of been done in one or a few if you simply used show preview as you have been asked to many times. Like here where you tried to appeal to Snowmane to ask him a question, as if this was a live conversation instead of one where you could of just asked your question and waited for a reply. To follow that up, you added another comment within the minute to just point out your misspelling (with both attempts at his name, "snow ball" and "snow bane", being incorrect). As a better example, take the entire history of your contributions to your user page. Or take this stream of edits, in which you primarily spent time fixing a link that could of been done in one edit with show preview.
To further cement these issues, you have a tendency to disregarding people if you feel like they're not in a position of authority. Take this, this, this, this, and this as a few examples.
Finally, you've made personal attacks against other users. Personal attacks are grounds for an immediate block. Despite this, there were attempts to warn you about this behavior instead of immediately blocking you. Despite attempts to be reasonable, many attacks were made. Take this one or this one against Thuum. Or take this and this attack right before I locked your talk page access.
The point of all this is that despite attempts to be polite and reasonable, there has been an almost universal pattern of ignoring requests to end it, and even personal attacks in response to continued efforts to get you to change your behavior voluntarily. My suggestion for you would be to try out the other areas of the site. You're not blocked from them (as far as I know), so you should be free to do whatever you want. Just follow the rules that they lay out, and I'm sure that it won't have to end as badly as this did. This block will last a week, without opportunity to appeal as many of the issues that led to this block were spawned by this talk page. Since you primarily use your talk page on this site, you're not really blocked from anything if I allow you to continue to access it.
To other users of this site, I ask that you simply let this go. Any further actions relating to this user should be done through the administrative noticeboard. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 22:43, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Question 2[edit]
Can I remove everything apart from the warnings? --Jamie the Dark Elf 16:30, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- I think you can.But I would check with someone just to be safe.--Skyrimplayer 16:31, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- If you would like, you can have a separate page set up at "User talk:Jamie the Dark Elf/Warnings" where all warning and block related sections can be moved, with a small link to that page at the top of this one. This way, they won't show up on your main talk page, but they'll still be easily accessible to administrators for future reference. If this is what you would like to be done, I can do so for you, just ask. ABCface◥ 16:36, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- hey abcface, b4 u do anything, per the policy, that can only be done after 6 months if there is consensus by sysops (and for ur reference abc, same thing happened to this guy here). if you did this for jamie, it would be seen as unfair (and also against the policy). but i believe it's okay to remove everything else. only the official messages must stay - for now.--Honeystars 17:26, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
