Account Name

If you would prefer your account to be named "Shane", it would be much less confusing if you would get your account renamed. You can post a request for Daveh to rename your account; you just need to provide him with the new name that you would like to use. Otherwise, signing your posts with a name that is completely unrelated to your user account name causes unnecessary confusion, and is potentially against the Signature Guidelines, which state that:

...it is common practice for a signature to resemble to some degree the username it represents.
