Knowledgeable[edit]
Ok, I have recently discovered how to use the things that state you are knowledgeable in certain subjects such as
This user is knowledgeable about Morrowind. |
so, i was wondering if there is something like that for bloodmoon and tribunal. When I put in the code I used for the previous template but changed it to Bloodmoon or Tribunal, nothing happened. Could you help me out on this? — Unsigned comment by Jesus_lover (talk • contribs)
- You can see the list at Category:User_Box_Templates. In short though, there are no User Temps for Bloodmoon or Tribunal, you would have to get someone to make them or do it yourself. It is a little curious since there is one for Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, but there are also a lot more people that have those. I believe you can use Template:Userbox if you want to make your own personal one. --AlbinoMudcrab 16:57, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
- When I originally created those Userboxes, I went under the assumption that most people who are knowledgeable about Morrowind are also likely to know about the expansions, since they've been out for a while, and if you're new to the series, I don't think you can even buy a copy of Morrowind except for the GotY edition which includes them. The Oblivion expansions are of course much newer, and thus it's far more likely that somebody would have Oblivion and not the expansions. If you'd like to make Tribunal/Bloodmoon Userboxes, feel free. I just didn't see that there was as much of a need in this case, since they've been around long enough that any Morrowind fan is likely to know about them by now. --TheRealLurlock Talk 00:12, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
Thanks a lot! --Jesus lover 15:26, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
I have tried finding an image, and I keep finding a good one, but everytime i click Copy, and try to copy the .JPG, my computer freezes. If someone would help, go to Google search, type in Images of Bloodmoon, three images will appear as the first thing. click on the one to the far right and when another screan comes up, copy the .JPG and paste it below. I will do the rest.
P.S. the .JPG will be to the right of the image in the top left hand corner. --Jesus lover 15:39, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
- Is this what you're referring to? (That's what I get using your instructions.) If so, I don't think this image is suitable, because it won't read well when shrunk down to the size of a Userbox. I think something like this might be more appropriate, only that doesn't come from the game, so it's not quite right. If there's an image like that which is from the game, that might be better... --TheRealLurlock Talk 18:36, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
The first one was the one i was looking for, but I am willing to take your advice and either try the second one or try to find something from the game. --Jesus lover 11:22, 15 June 2007 (EDT)
Ok I did it with the second one and heres the poisen
This User is knowledgeable about Bloodmoon |
Now how do I shrink it, or is it Possible? --Jesus lover 11:29, 15 June 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, you need to upload that image to the site in order to shrink it. Off-site images don't have as many formatting options. Also, you should create the template as an actual template, rather than copying all the code from the page here. Put that on Template:User Bloodmoon rather than on the page where you want it to show. Anyhow, like I said, this image is not from the game Bloodmoon, just one I happened to see. That's the actual moon in that shot, not one of the moons in the games. So we might want to find another image to use. I was just giving that as an example. --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:14, 16 June 2007 (EDT)
Okay, so lets find another image and then I'll create the template. --Jesus lover 13:28, 16 June 2007 (EDT)
Actually, before finding another image, how would I upload one to the site? --Jesus lover 22:58, 16 June 2007 (EDT)
Other Nationalities[edit]
Okay, after a quick scan for likely countries in the User namespace, I came up with the following list of countries for which people might want Userboxes (those which already exist are in blue):
- Australia
- Belgium
- Canada
- Denmark
- England (For those who want to be more specific than the British Userbox)
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Great Britain
- India
- Ireland
- Italy
- The Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Poland
- Russia
- Scotland
- Sweden
- Ukraine
- Template:User UK (May be redundant with British Userbox)
- United States
- Wales
If you want one for your country, just add it to this list, and someone will make it for you. Or you can create your own, just by copying an existing one and changing the details. --TheRealLurlock Talk 12:11, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
- Well, I finished making all those userboxes. (And no, I didn't finish on the Finnish one intentionally, I evidently neglected to hit "Save page" the first time on that one, but hey, it worked out.) Feel free to adjust my color choices, I'm sure I got most of them wrong. --TheRealLurlock Talk 15:12, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
- Alright, so now, if you don't like the default colors, you can change them. Just add 3 parameters to the Userbox. Thus, if you don't like: (edit the page to see the code)
This user is from the United States. |
-
- You can use:
This user is from the United States. |
-
- Or hurt your eyes with:
This user is from the United States. |
-
- All with the same template! Yay! --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:52, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, I've now just added the ability to put custom text into the nationality userboxes using the "|text=" parameter. So now you can get:
- All with the same template! Yay! --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:52, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
This user is a red-blooded, flag-waving, hotdog and apple- pie eating American. |

Request[edit]
Just wondering if anyone would be willing to create male and female userboxes. Somercy's are nice, but they're larger than the other userboxes. Also maybe one that says something like, "This user is knowledgeable about Oblivion's Official Mods." I'm horrible with images. --GuildKnight (Talk) contribs 17:22, 24 October 2007 (EDT)
- Well, you can use the ASCII characters for now - not sure if these work in all browsers though:
? | This user is female |
? | This user is male |
- I'll come up with something better-looking later maybe. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:42, 24 October 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, here you go, new icons, and the old one while I'm at it:
This user is female |
This user is male |
This user is undecided |
-
- Just edit the page and copy the code in the above lines. Feel free to change the text to whatever you want. Enjoy. --TheRealLurlock Talk 16:17, 25 October 2007 (EDT)
- Thank you so much! Any luck on the "Oblivion's Official Mods" userbox? --GuildKnight (Talk) contribs 16:00, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
- Can't really think of an icon that would be appropriate for that. Anyhow, it's a small enough slice of knowledge, I'm sure if it really even needs its own Userbox. The big ones, KotN and SI, already have them, and the rest - well, even combined they're smaller than KotN. If you want to create one yourself, it's not that difficult to just copy an existing one and change the text, but I still can't think of what icon you'd use to represent all of the official mods collectively... --TheRealLurlock Talk 16:20, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
- Something wierd happened when you added the categories... check outmy user page. --GuildKnight (Talk) contribs 16:54, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

Help[edit]
Hello. I'm just wondering if someone could help me make a template that reads "This user is Christian." --Twentyfists 12:47, 8 March 2008 (EST)

Races[edit]
Should there be race userboxes? Such as the ones below.--Puddle 17:30, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
This user wishes he was a Dark Elf |
This user likes Vampires! |
- I'd love to have a "This user is a Bosmer" userbox, but then you'd also need female and male pictures, 'cuz I wouldn't want a male Bosmer userbox on my page! ;) --GuildKnightTalk2me 20:26, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
- Actually, I have some done, look here.-Puddle 20:42, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
- AAH! It burns! I FINISHED ALL 25 RACES! EVERY SINGLE UNKNOWN RACE! (Now coming to User Page near you!)-Puddle 22:12, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
- How do I add em? If I can't can an Admin do it for me?-Puddle 22:14, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
- I'd make a slight change there:
-
This user wishes he was a Dark Elf
-
-
- This matches the colors used for Dunmer on all Dunmer NPC pages, as well as all other Dunmer-specific colors on the site. Also, I can't even see the black text on that almost-black redish background. That said, I'm thinking these Userboxes are getting a bit out of hand - all those faction user boxes (one for each rank? Seriously?) just seem completely unnecessary. If they must exist, I think we should consider splitting the Userboxes page up (I was thinking this even as the Nationalities section was getting a bit large), because it's getting really crowded right now, and it doesn't really make sense to try and fit every single Userbox on the site onto this page - that's what the Category page is for. The major, important ones should be listed here, but mainly this page is meant to be informational, to tell people how to use Userboxes and how to create their own. It shouldn't be necessary to have an exhaustive list here. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:46, 3 May 2008 (EDT)
-
You're right that one does need an adjustment, I was holding my Laptop at an upwards angle at the time (making it lighter) I just wondered if my userboxes could be of use. (Come on, some of them are pretty good.):)-Puddle 00:27, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
- I really love having the "Bosmer" userbox, but I agree with Lurlock... I would say to just keep them on your userpage, as some of the other users have done, and leave a note saying that it's okay for people to use them. They're not going to be used nearly as often as the other boxes that are on this page, so I don't see why anyone who wants them couldn't just use the (sorta) raw code, like I did on my page. Really, though, I like the idea. --GuildKnightTalk2me 11:34, 4 May 2008 (EDT)
-
- I've just moved the larger sections onto subpages to cut down on the clutter on the main page. If you'd like to create a UESPWiki:Userboxes/Races page for your new Userboxes, (or basically just move your sandbox there?) it would now make a bit more sense to do so. I don't mind there being a lot of Userboxes, I just wasn't happy with the way they were overloading this page, particularly the Faction Rank Userboxes. (Is anyone but Michaelsuarez even using these?) I'm also considering moving the "Roll Your Own" section to the top, so you don't have to scroll through all the existing ones to get to it. But then, it might make more sense to move that onto its own page as well, along with some more detailed instructions. (E.g. changing the text color isn't explained there, among other things.) --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:33, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
wath is the code for the dark elf userbox i tried This user wishes he was a Dark Elf,dunmer, darkelf but it wasnt any of it Agente00cuyo 18:38, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

But I can't make it get to the center position. What shall I do to get it to the center? --Goblin lair, 20.48, 8 july 2008

<center> {| | |} </center>

Nine divines[edit]
Hi can I add this one:

To the miscellagelous userbox page? -Goblin lair 13:50, 28 July 2008

- ok... I seem to have a problem... I don't know how to put it there... it just keep getting wrong... could someone "aid"? - Goblin lair 14:20, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
- You have to make the userbox a template. So for example you would create the page [Template:NineDivines] then, on the page you would put in the userbox code, and add the Category:User Box Templates. Then you expand the table (put an |- under the last userbox then a | for yours) and put in the code in the same format as the others, so it will read like:

Then, copy the Userbox code to the page, and add the category User Box Templates after saving the page, you edit the UESPWiki:Userboxes/Miscellaneous page, and add the information I placed above. "Rolling your own"[edit]
Do we really need this drug related reference? Daedryon•T•C•E• 17:44, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
- It's only a drug reference if you choose to see it as one. We're roleplaying people, we've been rolling (with dice) our own characters for decades. I doubt anyone is going to be seriously offended by that. --TheRealLurlock Talk 19:00, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
Followers of the Nine Divines[edit]
I made the userbox on the miscellangelouse userbox page. But when I later added it to my page, It would not show the userbox category, (in the bottom of the page). What did I do wrong? -Goblin lair 8:30, 29 July 2008

Users Following the Nine Divines

Is there anywhere I can get a list of the codes used for the colours so I can put some into a custom userbox, also where can I get those pictures like the "pilgrim" one?--Repeater 16:13, 19 April 2009 (EDT)
- Here's a site that has the base 216 color codes: [1]. Normally, you would use pictures that are already on the site, link to them, and scale them down to whatever size you want (the norm is 40px across). If you can't find one that fits or your userbox has nothing to do with the wiki, you can upload a picture with your username as a prefix and link to that. :P Vesna 16:48, 19 April 2009 (EDT)

Question[edit]
So to make a "real" userbox I need to search for (in this case) Template:User Necromancer right ?--TheAlbinoOrc 18:10, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
This user is a Necromancer. |
This is the userbox mentioned above so everyone can see it.--TheAlbinoOrc 18:13, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, that's basically what you have to do to create a userbox template. But honestly, I don't think it's a good idea to make such userbox, otherwise someone else might later create a "This user is a Conjurer", "This user is a Mage", "This user is a Battlemage" and such userboxes, when the most likely result is that only about 2-3 users would use it. --S'drassa •T2M 19:05, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
- You're right there would be way too may of them, just with the base classes.--TheAlbinoOrc 00:30, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

- I'm not seeing a difference at any resolution with or without the NewLine. Is it doing something on yours, TAO? It might look even better if you bumped that up to immediately after the Userbox itself, but the important part is that you get the Userbox working the way you want. :) – Robin Hood↝talk 22:42, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

- I just bumped User NoPatroller up on my list of Userboxes to standardize, so you should now be able to use . Change font in userboxes?[edit]
Can you? -- Moses 16:10, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
- Kind of. You have to roll your own though. This:
{{Userbox |id-c={{{id-c|{}}}} |info-c={{{info-c|{}}}} |id= |info=<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS; font-size: 150%">This user is knowledgeable about Oblivion.</span> |info-fc={{{info-fc|{}}}}}}
- Would produce:
-
This user is knowledgeable about Oblivion.
-
- rpeh •T•C•E• 16:31, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
-
- Or this:

-
- Would produce this:
This user is fluent in Daedric. |
-
- Thinking of tweaking the red, but you get the picture. Thanks for the help :) -- Moses 16:48, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
-
-
- There's no need to roll your own to do that any more. would produce:
-
This user is knowledgeable about Oblivion. - – Robin Hood↝talk 18:33, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion[edit]
Would it be possible to make a template that would show how many edits you've made? Something that automatically updates like the User UESPWikian template? Halfstache 05:36, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think you can make a standard userbox for it, for various reasons, but you can roll your own. Just include the text "This user has made edits" and you'll be there. I don't think there's anything you can do about the newline that appears though. rpeh •T•C•E• 11:20, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Elder Council[edit]
I need an opinion about this UserBox that I made:
This user is a Councillor of the Elder Council. |
Is it a valid one? Karnilmo 02:24, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- All userboxes are are fun little things to put on your page. If you want it to be valid, then it's valid. If you mean for the page, I would assume there isn't a problem posting it, but admittedly I am not the guy to ask about that kind of information. ES(talk•email) 02:26, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
