Console Only Images?[edit]

Article: Ebony Warrior

  • An image of him at Last Vigil, Unmasked.
I have a head shot of him lying dead on the ground without his helmet. Would that suffice? --Xyzzy Talk 16:28, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
It would, but I would like one of him alive without his helmet. Since your on PC, just use the console to remove his helmet, okay? Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 18:20, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
If it can't be encountered in normal gameplay, it doesn't belong on the article. If it can't be used on the article, the request doesn't belong on this page. — ABCface 18:22, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
You can encounter it in normal gameplay. Just like Alea from the Abandoned House. Has an image of her face on the page when she wears that execution full-face mask. Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 18:34, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

() I think the one I have is going to be the only view that is appropriate for an article, since I think he is essentially impossible to pickpocket. If you just want it for personal interest, DG, you can use console commands yourself and remove his helmet for your own screenshot (your userpage does say that you play on PC). --Xyzzy Talk 18:36, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

I know. Just because he has that 110% pickpocket reduce perk doesn't make it impossible to place an image of his face with him alive. Besides, it isn't very practical to show a dead body for an image on the article. Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 18:49, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
Alea gets her hood removed once you free her after killing Astrid. The Ebony Warrior, as far as I know, has no such event. -- SarthesArai Talk 20:11, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
Technically, it is in normal gameplay. While it may not be what every player does when they finish the quest. On the quest page, it says several pieces or enchanted equipment for the reward. This means the Ebony Warrior's loot, which means his helmet.
By the way, shall we decide about this soon, or shall there be a oppose / support vote with a consensus on the image at the end? Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 20:33, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
I think this discussion concerns all NPC articles on the wiki – do we WANT images, where an NPC is manipulated using console commands? Personally, I hate the very thought. --Krusty (talk) 20:41, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
(edit conflict) Well, this one for now. Krusty, I said that he isn't manipulated with console commands, just shown without his helmet. As I said; on the quest page, it says the reward is his several pieces of enchanted equipment; (aka, his armor) Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 20:49, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

() To finish the Ebony Warrior's quest, you have to kill him. This means he would be dead when you remove the helmet, and get the loot as a reward. — ABCface 20:51, 1 September 2013 (GMT)

Yes, killing him for the quest is normal gameplay. Are you making a statement? Guard of DragonsSpeak To Me 20:53, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
You should not be able to see the Ebony Warrior's head without console commands, unless he's dead. Can you explain what other method you could use to show him alive and bareheaded?--Skyrimplayer (talk) 21:16, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
I disagree with unmasked images in general, so an image of the dead Ebony Warrior with his helmet removed seems especially pointless. We don't have images of naked NPCs just to show what they look like with no clothes on. There's nothing all that noteworthy about NPC faces in my opinion, and certainly not enough justification to include trashy, unnecessary images of dead, looted bodies. —Legoless (talk) 21:21, 1 September 2013 (GMT)
I think that there is curiosity about the EW's face, so a screenshot of his face sans helmet seems useful IMO. Here's the screenshot: File:SR-npc-Ebony Warrior Unmasked.jpg. Is this any worse than other images of dead NPCs that we have on the wiki? It doesn't follow one of our usual NPC images guidelines (full body), so it's inclusion in an article is certainly debatable. --Xyzzy Talk 02:01, 2 September 2013 (GMT)
For a non-introductory NPC image, it's not necessary for it to be full-body, though it would be better for it to be more than just the head shot. Additionally, it should be 4:3 rather than 1:1, since it would be a story image rather than an introductory image. — ABCface 02:43, 2 September 2013 (GMT)

Completing Image Requests for a Non-Active User[edit]

Hi everyone! So I've been completing this list of image requests for the user Biffa but it appears that this individual has not been on for quite some time. Shall I continue completing this line of requests? And if so, who should add these images to their respective pages? I ask this because I know the community prefers that the user who put out the request add the pictures. Thanks. —Jake-518 05:14, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

I see no reason not to. Worst case scenario: the article remains the same, but gets a little gallery on the bottom. I don't think you have to worry about who adds them and when the images are used, just add a link to the request with your images. If you're willing to take them, I say go for it ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 18:16, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
The images are still required so please keep taking them. If you don't add them to pages but add links here they will still appear in the unused images maintenance, which should prompt them to be used. There used to be an unofficial 'owner' of this page that kept it clean and added images in the absence of the original requester, but the responsibility needs to be shared around now that they are also no longer as active. Also while it is preferred that you add images here, there is nothing to stop you adding the images to the pages they are required for. I will add some depth to the 'Removing a Request' section to reflect these situations. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:52, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Cool; thanks! I'll take the initiative and start adding the images to their respective pages. —Jake-518 03:29, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

() Similar question: Dragon Guard's request for an image of Helseth's Chambers remains, but they are "not currently active on this wiki" and the article in question already includes an image of Helseth's chambers. Robin of Blackwood (talk) 11:31, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

I have removed this request from the page. —Legoless (talk) 22:02, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

() Dragon Guard also requested the emblems/stone tablets. I have taken the photos, but just seen they're Non-Active. Could anyone let me know if the first image is any use and wether I should upload the others? I don't know how to add them to a page yet, other than like in the request section, so I'm not sure if I would be able to do that if we still think they are needed? Thanks!--TastyFish (talk) 02:11, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

I think they would be great on Skyrim:High Hrothgar! —Legoless (talk) 23:42, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
