Veramus Mine

Veramus Mine is a large iron and diamond mine in the mountains northeast from Tel Oren. As you head across the bridge connecting Tel Oren to the mainland you will see a rock arch directly ahead. Pass through this and walk to the top of the hill then turn right. You should see the entrance to the mine straight ahead, protected by two Imperial guards.

As one might expect, the mine has a huge amount of iron. Much of it has already been mined, but there are still 34 veins of ore-bearing rock to be tapped.

It seems that until recently, the iron mine also yielded a good supply of diamonds, but a letter on a table describes how the workings collapsed, cutting off access to that section and killing several guards and miners. The letter asks for 20,000 drakes to fix things up, which might sound like a lot but would only need 80 diamonds to be recovered to break even. Some form of water breathing will be necessary to explore the diamond section of the mine.

Taking any of the loose samples or mining the veins is considered stealing and will bring down the wrath of the guards.
