Dunel Varys

Dunel Varys is a Dark Elf commoner who lives in Port Telvannis with his pet rat, Veles. He is currently fighting with his neighbor, Madar Senatam, as she claims that Veles is diseased and needs to be killed.

He wears a common robe, pair of shoes, and ring. He wields a wooden staff, and carries a journeyman's probe. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows no spells.

The only thing of note in his house is a copy of 36 Lessons of Vivec, Sermon 1 on the bookshelf in the room where Dunel is.

"Veles is not diseased! Madar has always had something against him, and I can't understand why. Go see for yourself. You'll see!"

"Veles is diseased? Please, %PCName, don't kill him. He can be cured, and you know it. If you help me cure him I'll pay you."

"Thank you for curing Veles! Here, take this gold as compensation for your trouble. I know that Madar Senatam was behind infecting Veles; still I'd like to be able to prove it. I've procured some meat from a rat that had Witbane and would like you to place it amongst Madar's food supplies. Even if she throws out the meat it will still contaminate the other items in whatever basket or urn you place the diseased rat meat in. Report back, after you've contaminated Madar's food, and I'll pay you 50 more Septims for your time. Be sure to clean your hands after handling the meat."
