Basan-Dur

Basan-Dur is a treasure-rich crystal cavern north of Omaynis.

It can be reached by leaving Omaynis via its western exit, and turning north at the first junction in the road. The cave entrance is a little way off the road, being to your northeast as you pass a small fishing shack. The cavern is home to a number of beasts, and also the reclusive nightblade, Metendiel, who does not elaborate on any reason for his presence. He can be found in the northwestern chamber and offers both spells and training.

The true treasure of Basan-Dur lies in the east however, where you can find the ruins of a Daedric Shrine - above a pool of steaming lava. Levitating to the top of the lava chamber will reveal another area, and a Vermai guarding it. The valuables here include the Destruction skill book Response to Bero's Speech, the enchanted Bonemold Longbow of Slowing, the Amulet of Dremora Skin and an Adamantium Dagger (in the nook to the skeleton's left). Three Daedric Darts can also be found on the rocky ledge opposite the one that held the Vermai.
