Banvira Auctoria is an Imperial spellsword and Wizard of the Mages Guild who can be found in the tower of the Firewatch Mages Guild. She is the second-in-command behind Archmage Gindaman, and is one of three guild members in Firewatch who can supply you with duties for the guild.
Given the Mages Guild's location in the often hostile Telvanni lands, Banvira is somewhat more active in the affairs of other guild members than might be expected, and is involved in a degree of counterespionage against the inevitable spies and agents of House Telvanni, as shown in Counterintelligence, where she will task you to identify and capture one such individual. Indeed, asides from Banvira's diplomatic role liasing between the Mages Guild, the College of Firewatch and the Duchess' administration, she seems to act as something of a spymaster, receiving an encoded missive during Delivery for Dagmund.
While Banvira can offer training in several magical arts, she will only do so to those of Conjurer rank or higher in the Mages Guild.
She wears an expensive robe with matching shirt, pants, and shoes. She wields an adamantium dai-katana and carries 42 gold.
Aside from her natural charm and ability to absorb fatigue from others, she knows the following spells: Blood Gift, First Barrier, Iron Will, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Storm, Orc Strength, Poet's Whim, Poisonbloom, Powerwell, Rapid Regenerate, Shockbloom, Strength Leech, Strong Levitate, Weary, and Wearying Touch.
She has a small bedroom directly above her in the roof of the tower, where there is a Scroll of Tranasa's Spelltwist on the table, an Amulet of Slowfalling on the chest of drawers, and a Geth Sigil Amulet of Entry next to the pillow on the bed.

Dialogue[edit]
- Greetings:
- "I have duties for you, %PCRank. Or are you seeking advancement?"
- "Are you back for more duties, %PCRank? Or are you seeking advancement?"
- "Always a pleasure to speak with you, %PCRank."
- Background:
- "I'm %Name, the guildhall's deputy. I manage the Guild's relationship with the College and the Duchess' administration over at Ember Keep."
- duties:
- "I'm afraid I don't have any duties for you now. Halan Macrinus may have work for you. You can find him downstairs."
- "I'm afraid I don't have any duties for a guild member of %PCRank rank. Check back with me when you've achieved the rank of Journeyman."
- "I'm afraid I don't have any duties for a guild member of %PCRank rank at the moment. Check back with me when you've achieved the rank of Conjurer."
- "To get there, go to the town of Ranyon-ruhn, and take the road to Firewatch. Keep going until you reach the fork where the right path leads up a hill. Atop that hill will you find the Varyon Tomb."
Mages Guild: Delivery for Dagmund[edit]
- report to Banvira Auctoria:
- "You have a report from Dagmund Wind-Whisker? I'll need to decode it immediately. In the meantime, you should perform duties and seek advancement. I may have more important duties for you once you've achieved a higher rank." (Removed Report for Banvira Auctoria from your inventory)
If you are at least Journeyman rank in the Mages Guild:
- "You have a report from Dagmund Wind-Whisker? I'll need to decode it immediately. In the meantime, I have some more duties for you, if you are interested." (Removed Report for Banvira Auctoria from your inventory)
- "Thank you for delivering Dagmund's report to me."
Mages Guild: The Ring of Ineptitude[edit]
- Greetings:
- "I hope you've found the Ring of Ineptitude."
- duties:
- "Yes, I have work for you. I need you to retrieve the Ring of Ineptitude."
- "Have you found the Ring of Ineptitude yet?"
- Ring of Ineptitude:
- "The Ring of Ineptitude is a fairly ordinary ring, but it's got an unusual enchantment on it. Ordinarily, we don't make a habit of raiding local tombs, but this one is worth the trouble and the risk. I've recently learned that the ring is located in Thendas Ancestral Tomb, in the Dagon Urul coastlands south of Firewatch. Follow the road southeast from Firewatch, and you will find the tomb at the place where the road turns towards the ruins of Ebunammidan."
- "Like I said, the Ring of Ineptitude is somewhere in Thendas Ancestral Tomb, in the Dagon Urul to the south. Remember -- all we need is the ring. Try to restrain yourself from looting the place dry."
- "You have it? Great. Here; I had Ainssa make this for your trouble. Now -- are you ready for more duties?" (Removed Ring of Ineptitude from your inventory, and you receive Amulet of Humbling Touch)
- "Excellent work locating the ring, %PCRank. Ainssa will find it an interesting study."
Mages Guild: Counterintelligence[edit]
- Greetings:
- "Have you figured out what Theneria Vanil has been up to?"
- "Did you find our research in Shularon?"
- duties:
- "I have more work for you. Closer to home, this time. I believe Theneria Vanil is a spy."
- "Have you found out where Theneria Vanil has been going?"
- "Have you handled the situation with Talver Dolmyn yet?"
- Talver Dolmyn:
- "He's a ladder-climbing Telvanni scum-sucker who tries to curry favor with more powerful magelords by interfering with Guild business. I'd bet my left shoe he's involved with this thievery somehow. It wouldn't be the first time he's tried to cause us problems. I need you to go to Talver Dolmyn's tower, Shularon, and retrieve our research and anything else you find. Shularon is directly south of Ranyon-Ruhn. You'll probably have to kill the wretch to get what you need, but I won't shed any tears over it."
- "You'll find him in Shularon, a Velothi tower south of Ranyon-Ruhn."
- ""NH"? Well, that would explain why Narus Hermalian has gone missing in the hours since I dispatched you. I suspect he will not be returning. You've done excellent work, %PCRank. Here, take these as a token of the Guild's appreciation for your efforts. I have more duties for you, whenever you are ready." (Removed Report to Talver Dolmyn and Notes on the Court of Razors from your inventory, and you receive a Scroll of Leaguestep, a Scroll of The Eighth Barrier, and 500 gold)
- "I hope it wasn't too much trouble for you to recover the documents from him."
- Theneria Vanil:
- "Theneria Vanil is a nightblade with the Guild. Recently, she's been disappearing for days on end, and when she returns, she won't tell anyone where she's been. I suspect that she's working with the Telvanni. Research materials have been going missing, and my usual sources are telling me that the magelords are making some kind of play. I need you to find out where Theneria is going. Talk to other people in the guildhall. Somebody should have seen something."
- "Have you found out where Theneria Vanil has been going?"
- "You wrung a confession from her? I wouldn't trust it. If she were a spy, she would confess to anything to misdirect our investigation. Have you spoken to the man in Helnim, Cervius Veris?"
- "So it is an affair? How ... quaint. I suppose that means Theneria is not our spy. No matter -- we will find the mole. I have a hunch that you'll need to track down Talver Dolmyn."
- "Whatever improprieties she gets up to in her personal time are no concern of ours, as long as they don't compromise our interests."
Mages Guild: Kill Shalath Abkala[edit]
- Greeting:
- "Have you taken care of that business with Shalath Abkala, %PCRank?"
- duties:
- "I am sending you to kill Shalath Abkala."
- "Have you destroyed Shalath Abkala and her revenants?"
- Shalath Abkala:
- "Shalath Abkala is a powerful necromancer known to lurk in the lava caverns beneath Mount Sarrunabi, the volcano northeast of Firewatch. During the Imperial Simulacrum, the necromancer took advantage of the chaos after the Battle of the Inner Sea to gather innumerable corpses for her horde. Shalath has been quiet since all that tumult, but I know for a fact that she's still down there, just as formidable as ever. It's time we do something about it."
- "As I said, she lairs in the lava caves beneath Mount Sarrunabi, just northeast of the city."
- "So, Shalath Abkala is dead? Then the people of Firewatch can breathe easier tonight than they have in thirty years. Here, take this. You've done the whole city a service, %PCRank." (You receive 1000 gold and a Cuirass of the Outermost Wastes)
- "May her name be accursed. Firewatch owes you a debt for bringing about her demise, %PCName."
Mages Guild: The Tower of the Enchantress[edit]
- Greeting:
- "Have you spoken with the Arch-Mage about your next duties, %PCRank?"
- duties:
- "From here on out, you're going to be taking your duties directly from the Arch-Mage. You'll need this to access his chambers. Speak plainly with Arch-Mage Gindaman, and do as you're told." (You receive a Geth Sigil Amulet of Entry)
- "I've got nothing for you right now, %PCRank. Like I said, Arch-Mage Gindaman will be working with you personally from now on."
Mages Guild: The Pawns of the Outer Planes[edit]
- "Prepare yourself well for the battle against Drekhva Yashaz, %PCrank. The Dremora Lord wields immense power."
Mages Guild: Lamplit[edit]
- "It's really not something I have the authority to disclose, %PCRank. That's final, in case you were wondering about trying to change my mind."
Mages Guild: Escort Tenyeminwe[edit]
- message to Banvira Auctoria:
- "What's that? You have a message for me from Tenyaminwe? Let me see it."
- Here's the message.:
- "So, she's leaving Morrowind. That's unfortunate. We were making good progress on our research. Thank you for bringing me this letter, %PCRank. Tenyeminwe's research notes will keep me busy for a while. I'm afraid I don't have much to reward you with. Perhaps you'll find my old study book useful." (Disposition up by 10, removed Letter to Banvira Auctoria from your inventory, and you receive a copy of On Elemental Daedra)
- If you don't have the letter:
- "Well, %PCRank, where is it?"
-
- Nevermind.:
- "Then what do you want?"
- "Thank you for bringing me Tenyeminwe's letter, %PCRank."
The Dwemer Staff[edit]
- special Dwarven staff:
- "Hmm. I am surprised you know about it, but yes. We are expecting the delivery of a number of Dwemer artifacts from the excavations at Palisnabat. I believe a staff was mentioned. However, we were expecting the things to be here by now. Who knows where the caravan's got to."

- I have it here.:
- "Really? Fascinating. And the caravan was attacked by kagouti you say? Well, at least you were able to bring this to us. Here, take this reward. I don't suppose you found anything else?" (Disposition up by 5, removed Mzulangth's Fire Wielder from your inventory, and you receive 200 gold)
- There was this cup.:
- "Excellent work. The designs on here are truly fascinating. I thank the Society for sending these things to us first. It is most gracious of them. Did you recover anything else?" (Disposition up by 2, removed Ornate Dwemer Goblet from your inventory, and you receive 50 gold) (See other options below)

-

-
- There was this sword.:
- "A masterful example of Dwemeri craftsmanship. I will personally take care of interpreting the engraving on this. Did you recover anything else?" (Disposition up by 2, removed Dwarven Shortsword from your inventory, and you receive 150 gold) (See other options above)
-
-
-
- No, I'm afraid not.:
- "Very well."
-
-
- No, absolutely not.:
- "Very well."
- "Have you found any further Dwemer artifacts from the caravan, %PCName? I believe a few more were mentioned by the Society." (See options above)
- "Excellent work returning all the artifacts, %PCName."
Notes[edit]
