Brelyn has a problem with Simund's choice of music

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Brelyn Dreloth in Tel Muthada's The Note In Your Eye about sad songs.
    • You can immediately speak to the Redguard, Tanyelie about the new bard position. She's on the ground in the southwest of the settlement. Return to Brelyn for 250 gold now, and 75 later.
  2. If you don't want Simund fired, talk to him about his sad songs, and then deliver his Gold Kanet flower to Attia Saradelphin in the Chapel of Kynareth in Helnim.
  3. Return to Simund and tell him of Attia's request. Wait until the next day and speak to him again to receive a Dire Flamesword.
  4. Speak to Brelyn to complete the quest and receive 250 gold.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Notes[edit]

Given that this drinking hole requires the successful use of mentally-taxing levitation to leave and enter without falling to ones death, and given that many of the patrons leave drunk, it's not entirely unlikely that Simund's singing isn't the main reason there are no returning customers. This possibility does not seem to occur to Brelyn however.

1 In Tel Muthada, I met Brelyn Dreloth, the publican of the Note in Your Eye. He tells me that business is wavering, because of the bard named Simund the Singer and his sad songs.
5 Brelyn Dreloth asked me to help cheer Simund the Singer up.
10 I agreed to help Brelyn Dreloth. He said I have two options, I can either deal with Simund by finding this Imperial woman, or find a new bard. Of course, I could always deal with Simund the old-fashioned way if I want to.
15 Simund told me that the name of the woman he sings about is Attia Saradelphin, a missionary of the Imperial Cult in Helnim. However, he has no chance with her as not only is she too upper class for him, she is already seeing someone else. Simund gave me a gold kanet flower to give to Attia to show his true love.
20 I gave the gold kanet flower to Attia Saradelphin. She said that while she is a bit attracted to him, she is unwilling to start a relationship with Simund due to the fact marrying one of lower class and someone who rejects Talos would outrage her family and fellow countrymen.
25 Attia said she might be willing to give Simund a try if he were to convert and follow Talos.
30 Simund gladly agreed to convert to the Imperial Cult. I should give him a few hours or so to see if his resolve is kept.
35 I told Simund there'd be no way for Attia and him to get together. He seemed very upset about this, and continue to sing his sad songs. It's seems I'll have to find another way to remove him.
40 I should check on Simund to see if he is with Attia now.
45 Attia Saradelphin is dead.
50 I heard a rumor that Riran the Blacksmith's sister, Tanyelie, is a bard looking for work. Maybe she could be Brelyn Dreloth's new bard.
55 I spoke with Tanyelie, and she said she'll only be too glad to be Brelyn Dreloth's new bard. I should tell Brelyn.
100 After Simund's speedy conversion, he and Attia have been happy together. To show his gratitude, Simund gave me an enchanted sword and promised he'll only sing happy songs from now on.
150 Finishes quest☑ Brelyn Dreloth was pleased with the way I handled the situation and gave me the promised 250 gold.
200 Tanyelie is dead.
300 I have killed Simund the Singer.
350 Finishes quest☑ Brelyn Dreloth was not pleased with the way I handled the matter, and gave me no reward.
400 Finishes quest☑ Brelyn Dreloth is dead.
