Random tomes[edit]
The two spell tomes found in the temple are random. Perhaps we want to list the possibilities? Anyway, more information can be found on CSList here and here. --Alfwyn (talk) 13:33, 23 February 2013 (GMT)
Transported to Temple of Miraak after sleeping[edit]
After my character arrived in Solstheim, visited the Earth Stone, did some exploring, and cleared out Fort Frostmoth, he rented a room at the Retching Netch and slept. When he woke, he was at the Temple of Miraak, working at a wall with a pickaxe, seen in third person. I could hear Frea calling to her kin, and I regained control of my character as soon as I tried to move, at which point Frea initiated dialogue with my character. The quest proceeded as described from that point. FoolishOwl (talk) 06:35, 24 March 2013 (GMT)
- There's quite a bit of discussion regarding this sleep phenomenon on this talk page if you'd like to look into whether your experience is explained there. — ABCface◥ 14:28, 24 March 2013 (GMT)
Travelling[edit]
As we don't appear to have a horse with us is there any faster option of travelling nearby to it? I'm walking there now as i don't mind exploring even if i do get sidetracked but if there is i think this should be added to the wiki as the first step is to get there and the main wiki page for this starts when you are there. Killerchronic (talk) 03:12, 26 April 2013 (GMT)
- The only other option would be fast-travelling to a nearby location that you've already found, and they may be different for each player, so there's not much more we can do. Since this quest starts at the Temple, that's where the walkthrough starts as well. Getting there is the last stage of the previous quest, and there are brief directions for getting there from Raven Rock at the end of the previous quest walkthrough. --Enodoc (talk) 11:44, 26 April 2013 (GMT)
Next Quest doesnt Start bug[edit]
I noticed this under bugs ÈAfter reading the Black Book, completing the dialogue, and leaving, Frea will say her lines and walk back to Skaal Village but will never talk to Storn and the next quest will not begin." and it's exactly what happens to me. The first time i fast travelled back to the skaal village and she met me there, and the second time i walked back there with her. But both times, she did not talk to the shaman, she just went straight to the shamans hut and went to sleep (as it was nighttime). I only have one save for this character, which was in apocrypha before the quest finishes, and i really dont wanna have to make a whole new character and do EVERYTHING all over, as i am level 60, with enchant 100, smithing legendaried and back at 100, light armour 100, sneak legendaried and back at 100, one hand ~92 lockpick 100 etc. Is there any way to fix this bug with what i have to work with?
Miraak.[edit]
The article states that he'll appear about 25% of the time and steal the dragon soul. I've killed five dragons now and he's been there 100% of the time. This is getting infuriating. --Mebestien (talk) 21:29, 15 February 2014 (GMT)
- The percentage is correct but perhaps not conveyed accurately. Each time you kill a dragon there is a 25% chance of appearing, which means he could in fact appear every single time you steal a dragon and there is nothing you can do besides kill him. Miirak's dialogue clarification[edit]
Is Miirak's dialogue based on the number of dragons killed in total, or the number of dragon souls you currently have on you? According to my stats screen, I've killed 56 dragons, but I've spent most of my souls on shouts and only had 4 on me when I completed this quest. I got the "You have done little beyond killing a few dragons." line.
Admittedly I am playing on the PC with mods installed. I can't think of any that would have anything to do with this bit of dialogue, but stranger things than this have certainly happened with mods. 74.192.23.154 05:23, 1 August 2014 (GMT)
Quest Glitch[edit]
I didn't see this on the main page, so I don't know if it's been reported or solved. When I enter the Black Book and confront Miraak, he doesn't board the dragon and fly away. The two Seekers attack me and then eventually stop and Miraak is left standing next to the dragon. I've reloaded several times and it keeps happening. Someone help, please? 70.54.44.59 21:25, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- I've ran into this same problem, after trying everything the way i fixed it is by opening console, clicking on the dragon Miraak has to mount, killing it and then resurrecting it, then they moved about a bit, Miraak mounted the dragon and flew off, and i was teleported back to the pedestal. Hope it helps someone. (2021.02.08) — Unsigned comment by 188.6.120.244 (talk) at 23:43 on 7 February 2021 (UTC)
Unable to move after meeting Miraak[edit]
After Miraak sends you back to the temple, you're stuck in a crouched position and can't move. This happens after the scene with Miraak plays out properly (=he mounts the dragon and flies away, you get banished by the seekers). I was able to get out of this by 'player.moveto 04017a0d' (which is Frea).87.177.147.92 07:18, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Shabdez
