Location?

Would anyone be able to post the location for this book? would really like to see it in game.

Apparently, there is only one copy in the game, with a listed location at Sky Haven Temple. I've looked in every nook and cranny of that place, and I found nothing. Three possibilities I can think of: some secret passage will present itself as the story progresses leading to another part of the Temple where the book is located, the book is glitched out or otherwise cut from the game, or else someone at Sky Haven Temple presents it to you in the course of a quest. Also, some inferior wiki which will go unnamed claims that a copy can be found in the Arcanaeum (sp). This is false. If there is a copy there, it would be in one of the locked bookcases. Maybe you PC users know how to bust into those things and check for sure, but since the directions on which bookcase held the book seemed purposefully vague, I'm pretty sure this is garbage. I don't know exactly what the trigger is, but some time after you first visit Sky Haven Temple and then return, a table and bookshelf appear to the right of Alduin's Wall, and the book will be on the bookshelf. There is the book Dragon Language: Myth no More by Hela Thrice-Versed : A lengthy thesis on the ancient language of the dragons which can be found in two static places:

Sky Haven Temple (meaning that you sadly can't find it until after you begin the main quest).

Benkongerike, an icy cave southeast of Saering's Watch and northwest of Headwaters of Harstrad containing bristlebacks and rieklings, on Solstheim.

Alternatively, this book is also part of the radiant list number 3, meaning that once you reach level 18, you have 2 chances out of 12 (so 1 out of 6) to find one of the books of this list and that Urag gro-Shub from the Arcaneum of the College of Winterhold will always have one of the books of this list in his inventory, ready to be bought (his inventory is restocked every two days). Sadly, there are 61 books in that list, dropping the chances of actually finding that specific book down to 1 out of 732.

You're better off travelling to Solstheim and killing some rieklings.

Missing font?

I don't think the lines with all caps are supposed to look like that. Is there a font I should be using? Can someone fix this, or confirm that it is the correct text? — Unsigned comment by 76.212.5.23 (talk) at 00:37 on 5 December 2011 (GMT)

I think we can be sure that the lines in all caps are not supposed to look like that. However, I have no idea what they're supposed to look like; trying to translate by applying the dragon alphabet wouldn't work because the lines in all caps include numbers, for which no known dragon symbols are available to my knowledge. Retro-engineering it from the first translation in the text would likely be highly inaccurate. The only way I know of that would be certain would be seeing a copy of the book in-game. Seemingly Random capitalized words

Is this the actual text from the in-game book? Because two words in the Translations start with a capital letter, and it appears that these words are words that are used in a shout. In the first translation, the word "Seek" has a capital letter, and "Terror" in the one about the doomed elf children does to. Both "Seek" and "Terror" are part of the Aura Whisper (Laas Nah Nir) and Dismay (Faas Ru Maar) shouts respectively. — Unsigned comment by Nothinglord (talk • contribs) at 01:20 on 4 February 2012 (GMT)

Additional location

This is also found at Dragonborn:Benkongerike, in the Great Hall on a pedestal. It might be worth noting somewhere, given the rarity of the book, but we don't have books page in the DB namespace for pre-existing Skyrim literature, so I'm not sure where to put it. Potential typo in the original text?

I bolded the word that is misspelled.

Assigning those scratchings to actual Tamrielic langauge characters, I further translated what I saw into this:
Het nok Yngnavar Gaaf-Kodaav, wo drey Yah moron au Frod do Krosis, nuz sinon siiv dinok ahrk dukaan.

I don't have access to the game to check, is that a uesp typo or a bethesda typo?
