Vidrald

Vidrald is a Nord warrior who will be called upon by Avulstein Gray-Mane to help rescue his missing brother from the Thalmor.

He will appear at the rendezvous outside of Northwatch Keep together with his friend Geirlund to aid you, but only if you choose to let Avulstein accompany you and bring reinforcements. They will help you clear the yard and inside of the keep, but might die along the way. Once Thorald is freed, and Vidrald is still alive, then he and Geirlund will stick around the keep forever. He wears a set of leveled heavy armor, including the cuirass, boots, helmet and shield, all of which may be up to steel plate in quality, except for the shield, which may be up to normal steel. In combat, he wields a leveled mace which may be up to daedric in quality.

If spoken to, he will say:

"I pledged to aid Avulstein and Thorald a long time ago. There's nothing that could keep me from helping them now."

Bugs

• Geirlund and Vidrald never get removed after the quest is completed.
