Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Speak to Lurius Alro about duties and unpaid taxes.
- Talk to Christophe Marane at the Crossing Inn about unpaid taxes and either:
- Insist on payment (requires 60+ disposition).
- Insist on payment menacingly (requires successful Intimidate).
- Offer to pay the 100 gold out of your own pocket.
- Return to Lurius and give him 100 gold.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
While Thelius Halgern is the Kingdom of Anvil's Marshal of the Crossroads, he is considerably less hands-on than the queen's other two Marshals. If you are a member of the Kingdom of Anvil faction, you will therefore be taking duties from his able servant, Lurius Alro. Lurius can be found next to the Marshal in Halgern Manor in Brina Cross.
Lurius is concerned about some unpaid taxes owed by the publican of the Crossing Inn, Christophe Marane. He'll ask you to speak to Christophe and collect the 100 gold owed. The Crossing Inn is a couple of buildings to the north. Speak to Christophe inside. Having been previously promised more time to pay his taxes, he's reluctant to do so here. You'll have to either Intimidate him into coughing the money up, raise his disposition so that he does so willingly, or else take pity and commit to paying the taxes yourself.
Whatever you decide, return to Lurius to hand over 100 gold and complete the quest.
