Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Lurius Alro about duties and Isor Rulatus.
2. Go to Talgiana Crypt south of Brina Cross and speak to Isor Rulatus.
3. Retrieve the Rulatus Signet Ring from the Crypt's western room.
4. Give the ring to Isor.
5. Return to Lurius.

Detailed Walkthrough

A public relations issue has arisen for Thelius Halgern, Marshal of the Crossroads. The roads that he is meant to keep safe have lately seen a bandit attack that has resulted in a noble from Skingrad being taken as a hostage. Payment of the ransom demand would make the Marshal look weak, while any harm befalling Isor would make him look incompetent.

Ever the loyal servant, Lurius Alro requests that you rescue Isor Rulatus from where he is being held in Talgiana Crypt. This location can be reached by leaving Brina Cross at its southern exit and heading a short way in a roughly south direction. If you're having trouble finding it, look for the Brina Cross: Granary building to the southeast of town, and head straight south from here - the crypt is about double the distance from the Gold Road as the granary is to that road.

Once inside, kill the Orc bandit Oldob gra-Shog and take the key on her body. Then use that key to unlock the door in the flooded area. Isor is beyond this. Speak to him - he'll refuse to leave until his family signet ring is recovered. This is in a sack by the Shrine of St. Adri in the tomb's westernmost portion. Bring this Rulatus Signet Ring to Isor, and he'll warp away using the ring's Divine Intervention enchantment.

Return to Lurius Alro to report your success. Once again there is no reward, but you can rest assured that the Marshal's position is no longer as tenuous as it was.
