Quest-Related Events[edit]
The Garland Ring[edit]
After you free Tanlorin from an ice trap, they ask you to accompany them to Monkey's Rest, where they were to meet with Oleander and Wisteria. However, when you arrive at the ruin, no one is there and there are signs they may have been captured by those they were hunting.
Getting in contact with Hyacinth he will say the pair were heading to Toothmaul Gully which was the suspected location of the hidden base they were looking for. Afterwards, Tanlorin will get the idea to use a Tracker Fly device, but needs to create a Resonating Fluid for it to work. As they know the recipe for the fluid keyed to Wisteria, Tanlorin will have you collect the reagents and brews the resonating fluid for you afterwards.
Once in Toothmaul Gully, the tracker fly is activated, and you follow it to a hidden side chamber. Inside, you and Tanlorin find a small camp of Ceythalmor agents, as well as the body of Oleander. At the end of the passage, you find the door to the interrogation chamber and a voice will call out as you approach:
- Wisteria: "Hello? Is someone there?"
- Tanlorin: "She's alive!"
- <Tanlorin runs through the door.>
When inside, Tanlorin will walk up to the cage containing the injured Wisteria:
- Tanlorin: "You're hurt! What did they do to you?"
- Wisteria: "I … heh. I didn't play nice. Ow. It hurts to smile."
- Tanlorin: "We're here thanks to my new friend. Talk to them for a moment while I work on this lock."
- <Tanlorin begins picking at the lock of the cage.>
You can then speak with Wisteria to find out what happened:
- "A new friend of Tanlorin's? They do have a propensity for picking up strays.
Sorry, that's rude of me. Blame it on the blood loss and broken ribs. Thank you for coming to my rescue." - Tanlorin was worried about you.
- "They do that. Worry.
Tan, you should know. Oleander is dead. Neither of us would talk, but he …. You know Oleander. He couldn't help but make a scene. They made an example out of him. A threat to keep me in line." - What did they want to know?
- "The locations of our greenhouses, our hideouts. Names of members, past and present. Information on jobs we've done, people we've talked to. That kind of thing.
Wait, what has Tanlorin told you exactly?" - Only that you're members of a group called the Garland Ring.
- "I see. Well, don't let me overwhelm you with our problems.
Tan, do you need some help with that lock? Maybe your friend will have better luck with it." - I'll check with Tanlorin about their progress.
At this, the door will pop open:
- Tanlorin: "Have some faith, it's unlocked. Let me help you, Wisteria."
- <Wisteria is helped up and she begins walking to the exit.>
- Wisteria: "Tan, if I'd known a broken rib would get you to fawn over me, I'd have done this ages ago."
- Tanlorin: "Impressive, isn't she? Let's talk outside. I want to make sure she's all right."
- <Tanlorin follows her outside.>
Once outside, you can meet them on the road:
- Wisteria: "Tanlorin. I'm sorry about Oleander."
- Tanlorin: "You're hurt and you're the one apologizing? I'll mourn Oleander soon enough. Right now, I'm just happy you're safe."
- Wisteria: "You're incorrigible. Ow!"
If you talk to Wisteria before Tanlorin:
- "Give me a moment to pull myself together. Tan's got that fidgety look that means they want to chat. Go talk to them."
While you speak with Tanlorin, you can ask they about recent events and they will want to check on Hyacinth in Greenshade. While you talk to Tanlorin, Wisteria will move over to a nearby rock to lean against and sit down. After you have finished talking to Tanlorin, they will mention they have a means to reach Greenshade quickly:
- Tanlorin: "Listen, I have a boat tucked away on the Skywatch docks. We can use it to get to Greenshade, if you need it."
- <Tanorlin then walks over to where Wisteria is resting and crouches beside her.>
- Wisteria: "Tan, these people? They're dangerous. Promise me you'll keep clear of them."
- Tanlorin: "I'll be fine. I learned from the best, after all."
You have the option of talking to Wisteria a bit before leaving:
- "Thank you for helping Tanlorin. They're a torchbug, that one. A bright light, but prone to wanderlust.
They needed a rock today, and you fit the bill. I'm grateful. More than you know." - Will you be all right?
- "I've gotten into worse scrapes. Tan and I can tend to my wounds, and I'll make for one of the greenhouses.
I appreciate the concern though. I'm not one to turn down a little attention. Especially from Tanlorin, when I can get them to focus." - Are you and Tanlorin close?
- "Forward, aren't you? I'm Tanlorin's mentor. I've trained them in combat, infiltration, and how to channel magicka—despite those damned tattoos.
Beyond that? Well. Depends on the season, I suppose." - What do you think Tanlorin would say?
- "If you get a clear answer, make sure to tell me. Tan has a tendency to exaggerate.
Did they tell you the one about the Whiterun Jarl's daughter? It's better when I tell it. I don't leave out the ice troll that threw Tanlorin into the lake."
Thorns and Blossoms[edit]
When you reach Friendly Rapport with Tanlorin, you will accompany them with their visit to the Gardener's new Greenhouse to speak with the man himself. Once you meet him, he will ask you and Tanlorin to check on an ex-member of the Ring called Snapdragon. After the events of Auridon he will have checked on all Ring members past and present but had heard nothing from her.
In Skywatch, you learn Snapdragon was arrested and sent to Sunhold for questioning and imprisonment, and you and Tanlorin travel to the city to rescue her. Once you arrive back at the Gardener's Greenhouse, you find Wisteria has arrived since your time away. Speaking with Wisteria before Snapdragon:
- "Another daring rescue by you and Tanlorin? How impressive."
Speaking with Snapdragon, she will explain why she originally left the ground and tells you about her belief that the Garland Ring is compromised. When you asked her about the traitor's identity, the conversation will end and Wisteria will call you over:
- Snapdragon: "Not yet, but I have copious notes. Gardener, I'll speak to you now."
- Tanlorin: "A traitor! In the Garland Ring? How is that possible?"
- Wisteria: "Tan? Can I talk to you and your friend?"
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria! Are you all right? How are your wounds healing? Do you need anything?"
- <Tanlorin runs up to Wisteria.>
- Wisteria: "I'm fine! I just wanted to catch up. I've missed you."
You can then speak with Wisteria and she will tell you her concerns about Tanlorin:
- "Look, with all this talk about betrayals and traitors and everything, I … well, I'm worried about Tanlorin."
- Worried? What are you talking about?
- "Hey, I'm still a bit rattled from my time in that cage. Still healing. So I'm probably not making a whole lot of sense. Let me start again.
I wanted to say how grateful I am for what you've done for Tanlorin. Fighting beside them. Supporting them." - Tanlorin is capable in their own right. They've been supporting me.
- "Oh, I know. I trained them, after all!
Listen. Just, be careful with them. They've struggled so much over the years. Tanlorin's family, their tattoos, their magic. I'd hate to see them revert to how they were before the Garland Ring took them in." - I'll be careful.
At this, Tanlorin will be slightly annoyed that Wisteria is saying such things in front of them. Speaking to Wisteria before Tanlorin:
- "Remember what I said. I know you and Tanlorin won't rest until you figure this all out. Until you determine which of our flowers is really a weed. Good luck out there."
After speaking Tanlorin and completing the quest:
- "I have to return to the field, but I'll keep in touch with the Gardener. The moment we know more about this traitor, I'll be at your side and ready to strike."
Uprooted[edit]
When you reach Close rapport with Tanlorin, they will have received a letter from Hyacinth. It advises that Snapdragon wants Tanlorin and you to meet with her at Firsthold, and collect her research into the Garland Ring traitor. However, when you arrive you find the place ransacked and a hidden letter from Snapdragon asking you to head to the Bone Orchard, as she received a suspicious letter from Hyacinth to meet him there alone.
Once you arrive you find the place on fire, and a dying Snapdragon is found deeper in the woods. With her final words, she proclaims Hyacinth the Ceythalmor traitor and tells you to search the Smuggler's Tunnels under Southpoint for him. While searching the tunnels, you learn that Hyacinth was innocent and had been taken to the Crimson Cove to be questioned by the traitor. At this point, Tanlorin knows that all the evidence is pointing to the traitor being one particular person but they do not want to voice it at that moment.
You can then go to the Crimson Cove where you find the Ceythalmor Base behind a hidden passage. Once inside, you will Hyacinth trapped in a magical torture device as the traitor talks to him. Captain Cynoric and some fellow agents will be watching the show:
- Wisteria: "Hyacinth, it doesn't have to be like this. Give me what I need and all this pain will stop."
- <Tanlorin runs up to the platform and points at Wisteria.>
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria! Stop!"
- Wisteria: "Tanlorin? How? I … Agents, go! I need some more time."
- Captain Cynoric: "You heard the boss! Let's squash this flower."
- <Captain Cynoric and two Ceythalmor Agents jump down to fight.>
Once Captain Cynoric and the other agents are dead, Wisteria will escape:
- Wisteria: "I did this for us, Tan. You'll see. This is all for us."
- <She leaves through a portal.>
- Hyacinth: "Tanlorin … the levers."
- <Tanlorin runs up to the magical torture device.>
- Tanlorin: "Pull the control levers, friend!"
After Hyacinth is freed, you talk with him and learn that he and Snapdragon were tricked into meeting at the Bone Orchard so they could be ambushed. The reason Hyacinth was kept alive, was because Wisteria wanted to torture Hyacinth for information about the Garland Ring. He managed to convince her that he had a hidden journal with this information back in his Greenhouse. A portal will then be opened nearby so you can travel to the Greenhouse quickly and confront Wisteria.

Once you have entered Hyacinth's Greenhouse, you can find Wisteria in the northeast corner behind a magical barrier as she searches through drawers:
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria! Why are you doing this? Help me understand."
- <Wisteria stops searching and walks over to the barrier.>
- Wisteria: "I'm doing this for us, Tan. Remember our dream? A world free from suffering, from corruption. Safe."
- Tanlorin: "A world controlled by the Ceythalmor? How is that safe?"
- Wisteria: "The Ceythalmor are a means to an end. It would be a world under our control. Please. Listen to me."
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria, I thought I knew you. But this is … no. I won't. I'm sorry."
You can then speak with Wisteria, who will reveal her true feelings about the Garland Ring and you:
- "You're just another thorn in my side, to be plucked and tossed away. And to think I wrote you off as one of Tan's many flights of fancy. My dear Tanlorin is prone to them, after all.
And now they hate me. I suppose I have you to thank for that." - Why did you betray your friends, Wisteria?
- "Friends? Don't make me laugh. The Ring is a sham, always has been. Idealists looking for purpose, manipulated by a wealthy and privileged man.
How is that any different from the Ceythalmor? At least they're honest about what they want." - So you're willing to lose Tanlorin over this crusade of yours?
- "How dare you. You're the one that turned Tan against me. They would have seen. Would have understood. I just needed more time. They have so much potential! And they're wasting it with you!
But no matter. Soon, everything will change. You'll see." - We're going to stop you, Wisteria.
- "Funny, Oleander said the same thing. Maybe, then, you could have done it. But now it's too late. The plan's in motion.
It was quick, by the way. You hear that, Tan? Oleander didn't suffer. But you? I'm going to take my time when I deal with you." - We'll be ready.
After the conversation ends, Wisteria will leave:
- Wisteria: "I'm sure you will. And Tan? My offer still stands."
- <Wisteria walks away from the barrier, opens a portal and leaves.>
- Tanlorin: "She makes it look so easy, walking out of my life."
Of Crown and Flowers[edit]
When you reach Allied rapport with Tanlorin, they will have received a letter from Snapdragon via a banker from Marbruk. Snapdragon left behind instructions that in the event of her death, Tanlorin was supposed to inherit a locked coffer that has been kept at the bank for safekeeping. This coffer had been given to the bank a week before her death, with no other leads regarding the Ceythalmor and Wisteria, you and Tanlorin decide to look into this.
Inside the safebox, you find Snapdragon's Research Journal which has Snapdragon's suspicions of the various Garland Ring members and their movements. Once you have read the book, Tanlorin will want to check the locations Wisteria was said to have visited in Greenshade and look for information.
You first find the Ceythalmor Encampment southwest of Seaside Sanctuary and Tanlorin will recognize one of the wine bottles in a particular tent. When you examine it, the following will happen: When you examine the bottle, the following will happen:
- Tanlorin: "Shimmerene Rose. Wisteria's favorite. Wait, I can feel her."
- <Once you examine the bottle.>
- Tanlorin: "It's like with the boat and the disk. It's like she's right here. If I just …."
- <A blue light surrounds Tanlorin's head as they stretch out their arm. A spectral copy of Wisteria then appears in chair.>
- Wisteria: "I must return to Alinor soon. I had hoped Tan would have come to their senses and joined me …."
- <Wisteria takes a sip of her wine and the vision stops.>
- Tanlorin: "Auri-El! How did I do that? You saw that, too, right?"
Talking with Tanlorin about this new manifestation of their power, Talorin will want to check the other locations to see if they can use their bond with Wisteria to view more memories. The second location will be near the Labyrinth, looking around, you will find another bottle of wine in the pavilion:
- Tanlorin: "Another bottle of Shimmerene Rose. Wisteria was here."
- <You examine the bottle.>
- Tanlorin: "All right, Tan. You can do this. Focus. Think of Wisteria. Reach out."
- <Tanlorin focuses on their connection to Wisteria while using the soul magic. A memory of Wisteria appears.>
- Wisteria: "This is it. Our forces are gathering at Dusk Keep. It's all moving so quickly."
- <Wisteria walks over to the firepit.>
- Wisteria: "Breathe, woman. You are in control. No one can stop you. Not even Tan and that thorn."
- <The memory ends.>
- Tanlorin: "I did it again! That was incredible!"
The third and final location is at Echo Pond, where you can find a Torn Out Journal Entry and another bottle of Shimmerene Rose sitting on barrel:
- Tanlorin: "All right, reach out. Let's see what Wisteria was up to."
- <Tanlorin walks over to the remains of a campfire and focuses, a memory of Wisteria sitting by the fire will appear.>
- Wisteria: "This is it. There's no going back. Once we make our move, we succeed or die trying."
- <Wisteria gets up and walks over to the barrel and takes a swig of the wine.>
- Wisteria: "I promised the world for you, Tanlorin. That starts today with the head of the Proxy Queen."
- <The memory ends.>
- Tanlorin: "Auri-El! Did she just say they're going to kill the Proxy Queen of Alinor?"
You can then speak with Tanlorin about what you learnt. Tanlorin will have the idea of using their connections with Wisteria to open a portal to their location, however, they ask that you visit Hyacinth's Greenhouse to meet with him and the Gardener and get their help. After speaking with them, Tanlorin will have them contribute their memories of Wisteria and they are able to create a portal that takes you and Tanlorin to Dusk Keep.
Exploring the keep, you will have to find the Ceythalmor Inner Chamber and catch up to Wisteria. She will be behind a wall of ice and magic, and is accompanied by a Ceythalmor Captain. On the other side of the barrier, there is magical apparatus made up of five blue crystals.
As you enter the room, the following will happen:
- Wisteria: "Tanlorin? I knew you'd find me. But you're too late."
- <Tanlorin runs up to the barrier.>
- Wisteria: "Just stand back, spitfire. Let me change the world. For us."
- Tanlorin: "This isn't what I want, Wisteria. If you go after the Proxy Queen, I'm coming after you."
- Wisteria: "There's that spark! Do what you must, Tan."
- Ceythalmor Captain: "We're ready. On your order."
- Wisteria: "Go! If you oppose me, Tan, I won't hold back."
- <Wisteria and the Ceythalmor Captain use the device to teleport away.>
After Wisteria leaves, Tanlorin will tear down the barrier and has you help empower the ritual foci so you can chase after Wisteria. Once this is done, you and Talorin will be teleported into the Alinor Royal Palace and you will find the throne room covered in ice and several bodies scattered around. Wisteria will be channeling magic against the red magic barrier which protects Proxy Queen Alwinarwe and her remaining guards. Tanlorin will call out to Wisteria:
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria! It's over. Give this up. Please."
- <Wisteria turns around and some Ceythalmor join her.>
- Wisteria: "Never. It's you and me, Tanlorin. To the very end."

Skills and Abilities[edit]
- Ice Arrow
- A basic ranged attack that does minor frost damage.
- Ice Barrier
- Wisteria summons an Ice Barrier that absorbs projectiles fired at it until destroyed. The caster cannot be pulled if the wall stands between them and the enemy. The player should move so that there is a clear line of sight between themselves and the enemy.
- Frost Wave
- Wisteria unleashes icy whirlwinds in an arc that travel forward. Those whirlwinds deal moderate frost damage and roots all players that it hits. The root effect passes through block, but it can be escaped by roll dodging.
- Frost Void

- Frost Void Burst
- These AoEs are released after Frost Void lands, the smaller AoEs deal moderate magic damage.
- Ice Pillar
- Wisteria creates an ice pillar at the player's location regardless if Tanlorin has her taunted. The Ice Pillar deals continuous frost damage and slows targets in an area around itself.
- Dampen Magic
- Wisteria casts a low damage shield for herself
- Negate Magic
- Wisteria creates a globe of magic suppression for 10 seconds, removing and preventing all player area of effect abilities from occurring in the area. Players within the globe will be silenced and pets/companions are stunned. Silence prevents players from using any ability costing Health, Magicka, Ultimate or have no cost at all as long as they are in the affected area.
- Summon Frost Atronach
- This happens two times. At ~70% one Frost Atronach is summoned to fight for her, at ~20% health two Frost Atronachs are summoned to fight for her
- Summon Allies
- At ~50% health, an other Ceythalmor Berserker and Ceythalmor Chemist will join the battle.
