Help save a dying pilgrim
A pilgrim is dying in Ivarstead. A healer named Mizrali thinks she can save him with a rare plant called Frostheart Blossom that grows along the steps to the Throat of the World. I should try to track one down.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Collect Frostheart Blossom from beside the steps to the Throat of the World.
  2. Return it to Mizrali at the Pilgrim's Rest Inn.
  3. Talk to Odvild Wealdwalker on the balcony.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

This quest can be started by picking a flower by the Seven Thousand Steps:

<Flowers like this are often used as potent healing aids. Perhaps someone in Ivarstead could use it.>

Or talking to a Khajiit upstairs at the Pilgrim's Rest Inn in Ivarstead.

"Is he a friend of yours? This one is doing what she can for him but it is difficult.
At least he's alive. That makes him lucky compared to the other pilgrims we found in the storm."
What's wrong with him?
"Broken bones. Bruises. These things I can heal. But he is taken by a fever this one cannot treat.
I managed to ease his pain, but he is still fading. I have tried everything I know. Well, almost everything."
Almost?
"There is a plant, Frostheart Blossom, that grows in the snows of Skyrim. Even there it is rare. I have only seen it high up the steps to the Throat of the World.
With that flower I could save him, but the recent avalanche makes finding it dangerous, I fear."
Stay here. I will search for you.

Climb part of the Seven Thousand Steps, stopping just before the avalanche. Nearby, you will find the Frostheart Blossom.

Head down the hill and return to Ivarstead, which lies to the east. Upstairs in the Pilgrim's Rest Inn is Mizrali, a Khajiit healer tending to an injured Nord named Alforunn Wealdwalker. Speak with Mizrali and give her the Frostheart Blossom. She thanks you for bringing it to her, and tells you to go out onto the balcony and inform Alforunn's wife, Odvild, that her husband is going to be okay.

"From your look, I think you climbed the stairs to the Throat of the World. Did you find the herb?"
Yes, here's a Frostheart Blossom.
"Yes, this is it! I'll just chew it up and then I can apply it immediately.
We should see results within moments. Please, go tell Odvild. She's on the balcony. This will mend her suffering as well."

Odvild will reward you for saving her husband.

"I can't stand to watch him suffer any more. I know he'll soon be lost to me."
Don't worry. I brought Mizrali the herb she needs.
"You did? I have to go see him!
And, thank you. I can't ever possibly repay you."
