If you speak to her before starting the related quest, she says:

"Misaba is very busy. Lazy servants, hungry brigadines, and inquisitive strangers make this one's job extremely difficult.
Please, be off with you."

Quest-Related Events

After finding Councilor Abor murdered in the watchtower and Talaise Corvinus missing, Commander Ortin will have you question the servants. When you enter the kitchen, Misaba and Relique Davaux will be talking:

Misaba: "All right, grab a broom and start sweeping."

Relique Davaux: "What? No! That's Talaise's job!"

Misaba: "And do you see Talaise anywhere? No? Then start sweeping!"

Question Misaba about what she knows:

"The servants come to the kitchen to mutter and gossip. This one will not have it. Misaba asks that you do not distract them overly long, as they are already naturally lazy.
What is it that you need?"

Commander Ortin asked us to locate Talaise. Any idea where she might be?

"That young woman! She has not returned from the watchtower, so her chores remain undone. And she took the pantry key with her when she went. It is no longer hanging on its hook! That is a clear violation of the kitchen rules. A clear violation."

Where is the pantry?

"The pantry is in the cellar, but the door is around the side of the building.
Talaise mumbled something about how the councilor loves hot-root flakes, grabbed the key and the tray of food, and went off. This one hasn't seen her since."

Talking to Misaba after questioning her:

"This one has told you everything she could think of concerning Talaise.
Now, please, we are very busy. A fort runs on its stomach, you know."
