Quest-Related Events[edit]
Speaking to him while you're not on Rat Problems:
- "Who's there? Tazia? Tell your busybody Clanmatron I'm not interested."
Small Town Problems[edit]
If you told Clanmother Shuzura you'd help him, you can reply:
- I'm not Tazia. Actually, Clan Mother Shuzura sent me to help you.
- "She did, eh? I don't know what she told you to get you out here. But I guess I can't turn down help."
Rat Problems[edit]
- "All right. Now, on to my problem. There are some rats in my well. I can hear them scraping around down there at the bottom."
- How do you know they're rats?
- "What else would they be, damn it? I hear them down in the well. They must have found some way in. A back way. And lately some of the water has tasted funny. Bah!"
Alternatively, if you're coming from Ezzag or Kalari:
- I'm not Tazia. Actually I was sent to help you.
- "Hmm. You're here about the rats. Good. I can hear them down in the well.
They must have found some way in, a back way. And lately some of the water has tasted funny. Bah!"
Regardless how you start the quest, he'll reply:
- You want me to get rid of them?
- "I'd do it myself, but if Clan Mother Shuzura found out I'd gone down there she'd string me up.
Get down there, roust out those rats, and make sure they can't get back in." - I'll see what I can do.
Asking him a few questions:
- "All right, you know what's what. Now stop jawing at me and get rid of those rats!"
- Shuzura said to say 'Bright Moons' to you. (If you offer to help Milk Eyes first)
- "I'll bet she did, mangy old Khajiit. Bah."
- What do you mean?
- "Let's just say Shuzura isn't blind like this old cat. She knows a good thing when she sees it. And she's been trying to see Milk Eyes … I mean, she's been trying to see me for years now.
I don't need that in my life. Clan Mother is crazy."
- How long have you been hearing these rats?
- "Maybe a week? Yes, just over a week. Those nasty creatures have been fouling my water and scrabbling around down there that long.
Disgusting. If Shuzura liked me as much as she claims, she'd have sent someone over sooner."
- "Maybe a week? Yes, just over a week. Those nasty creatures have been fouling my water and scrabbling around down there that long.
Investigate the well and return to Milk Eyes:
- "I smell smoke. What happened?"
- There were no rats in your well. Smugglers set up a skooma lab.
- "Rrr! A skooma lab? In my well? Get me my blade! It's around here somewhere.
We'll go back down there together. You just point me in their direction and I'll cut them to giblets." - They're all dead, Milk Eyes. I destroyed the lab.
- "Hmmph. Nice work.
I'll get Clan Mother Shuzura to have Tazia seal up the cave, clean up my well, and such. She's good at such things." - Anything else I can do?
If you have yet to help Ezzag or Kalari, he'll tell you:
- "With my skooma-peddling rats dead, it should be nice and quiet out here.
Ezzag complains about trouble at his farm when we play cards, though. And I heard that little Kalari girl crying about her uncle's house. Might see if they need a hand." - I'll help Ezzag next.
- "Good. You should know, little one, that you've helped one of the most respected members of our small community.
And you have his gratitude. Hmph."
If you choose to help Ezzag next and you exit out of the conversation before turning in the quest, he will alternatively say:
- "I hope you can help Ezzag too. Fat cat won't shut up about his fields when we play cards." ("fields" is mistakenly pronounced as "friends" in this line)
- I'll see what I can do. (Leads to quest completion dialogue)
If you have already helped Ezzag:
- "With my skooma-peddling rats dead, it should be nice and quiet out here. But now that you mention it, I heard that little Kalari girl crying about her uncle's house yesterday.
Nice girl, reads to me sometimes. Might see if she needs a hand." - I'll help Kalari next.
- "Good. You should know, little one, that you've helped one of the most respected members of our small community.
And you have his gratitude. Hmph."
Haunting of Kalari[edit]
If you choose to help Kalari next, you can accept the quest from Milk Eyes:
- "Make sure Kalari knows I'm thinking about her, all right? Warms an old man's heart to know a pretty girl thinks well of him."
- What do you know of her problem?
- "She says her house is haunted. Ezzag's brother, Enak-do, owned that house for years before he passed. He never had any problems with dead people. Hmph. Anyway, this one has never known her to lie. Ezzag's niece is good people."
- I'll check it out.
Ezzag's Bandits[edit]
If you choose to help Ezzag next, you can accept the quest from Milk Eyes:
- "Give that fat bastard my best, eh?"
- Where can I find your friend?
- "He's just down the hill, probably working on his damned barn. Tell him next time we're playing at his place. Shady bastard."
- I will.
Speaking to him again after accepting the quest will prompt the initial question dialogue again.
- "Give that fat bastard my best, eh?"
Loose Ends[edit]
If you finished helping everyone, you can receive the quest from him:
- "Shuzura knows how I feel about her. Just make sure to rub it in. Heh."
- I'll go speak to Clan Mother Shuzura.
- "Yes, yes. Just don't let her talk down to you, all right? You've helped our village more today than she has in years. Hah!"
- I'll be on my way then.
After the quest:
- "Thank you for what you have done."
The Fires of Dune[edit]
If you help S'ren-ja before arriving in Dune, he'll be there to greet you:
- "S'ren-ja salutes you, walker."
