Hackwings are hostile winged creatures similar in shape to cliff striders often found in packs throughout Murkmire and other locations in Tamriel, or passively flying above the treetops. The indigenous Argonians hunt them for their hide for use in crafting armor.
Skills and Abilities[edit]
- Peck
- A basic melee attack dealing low physical damage.
- Stampede
- The hackwing scurries across the floor to chase you down, with its claws out, indicated by a small circular AoE around itself, dealing continuous low physical damage when touched. This attack only occurs if standing far away from one.
- Dive
- The hackwing flies towards you, indicated by a circular AoE around it, dealing low physical damage and knocking you away if contact is made.
- Frenzied Pecking
- The hackwing starts screaming before drilling you with its beak repeatedly, indicated by a conal AoE, dealing continuous moderate physical damage. This ability can be interrupted to set the hackwing off-balance.
- Reposition
- The hackwing enters flight for a brief moment to move around the battlefield.
Notes[edit]
- Hackwings' first mention in The Argonian Account claimed they were birds rather than reptiles. In ESO, the terms bird and flying lizard seem to be used interchangeably to describe them. The Legends card Hackwing Feather depicts a bird's feather. The leathery "horn" on the top of their head is referred to as a plumage in the Hackwing Plumage style item.
