Kanat is one of the scouts you will need to find.

The Maulborn have occupied the Obsidian Gorge, the pass to Mournhold. House Hlaalu guards have cordoned off the area to keep anyone else from walking into a trap.

Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Scout Mamyne.
2. Collect four shipping manifests for Mamyne.
3. Find Scout Kanat.

Detailed Walkthrough

Captain Diiril will ask you to find the Hlaalu scouting party sent to investigate the Maulborn's presence in Obsidian Gorge.

What remains of the scouting party is to the southeast, hiding behind a rock. Talk to Scout Mamyne, who is sitting on the ground, injured. The alchemist who created the plague has now made it stronger, and the Maulborn plan to infect all of Mournhold. She says the Maulborn are carrying forged shipping manifests to bring the cargo through the city's gates.

You need to collect four of the shipping manifests to stop them. The manifests can be found on the bodies of slain Maulborn. Kill as many as you like, and collect four of their shipping manifests. After doing so, return to Scout Mamyne. She will report to Diiril while you find the other captured scouts. Mamyne thought she saw them dragged off into a cave to the north. Sneak or slaughter your way past the Maulborn and head for that northern cave. Inside is a very wounded soldier. Talk to Scout Kanat for your reward and your next mission.
