His brother, Lothson, is from Rivenspire. The two apparently used to be quite the team until Lothson settled down and Addald "went soft."

Before the quest, he will be at the docks keeping an eye out for ships:
- "Perhaps a ship will arrive soon. We could use the supplies."
When you ask for the pickled fish supplies, he will be happy to give it away to you:
- "Greetings. What brings you to my pier in the middle of this disaster?"
- I'm looking for pickled fish for the Konunleikar.
- "Shor's bones! What with the giant attack and all, I completely forgot about all that.
My sincerest apologies. Here you go."
If you have not started Giant Problems:
-
- What happened here?
- "Haven't you heard? Giants attacked Lower Yorgrim!
Go speak to Eiraki in the tavern over there if you want more information."
If you have completed Giant Problems:
-
- With the giants pacified, can't the villagers return home?
- "Maybe. Hopefully.
Lots of folks say the land is cursed now. Nords can be pretty superstitious, you know."
Regardless whether you dealt with the giants or not, he will give you the pickled fish:
-
- I'm surprised you can spare the fish.
- "It's pickled fish! No one actually eats this stuff. It's more of a tradition than a food group.
I've even seen a starving horker refuse to eat these stinky fish! It might be good for keeping the wolves away, though."
Speaking to him again:
- "Please, apologize on my behalf about the delay. We've had a lot of trouble around here lately."
If you completed Giant Problems:
- "The giants have finally calmed down, but I'm not sure I want to move back into Lower Yorgrim."
