Faction(s) | Leyawiin; Guild for Mages (Evoker ) |
Agata, a Nord mage, is an Evoker of the Mages Guild who sells spells and offers recharging services at the Leyawiin Guild Hall. Lately she has taken up the de facto leadership of the chapter after the former head has been having some problems. During the recommendation quest, you will be directed to her to find out more about Dagail's visions.
She lives a relaxed lifestyle devoid of responsibility. She sleeps in a bed in the second floor West Wing from 2am until 9am and will then spend most of her day wandering around the guild building. At midday and at 6pm she will break off for a two-hour lunch and dinner in the ground floor dining room.
She wears the standard mage's robe and a pair of thick cowhide shoes. Her only other possession is a leveled amount of gold.
She doesn't wield any weapons, relying instead on a set of medium-higher level Mysticism spells. However, she is actually unable to cast her Master-level spell and some Expert-level spells (see bugs) These are also the same spells that you can buy off her cheaply, since her Mercantile is a mere 6. She will offer her services when not eating or sleeping.

Leyawiin Recommendation[edit]
When first spoken to when you're a member of the Guild, Agata will ask:
- "Yes? Is there something I can help you with, Associate?"
Asking her about the recommendation will result in her saying:
- Recommendation
- "Ah, yes. I'm afraid I'm unable to issue a recommendation. Only Dagail can do that. You may try to speak to her. If... if it doesn't go well, come see me."
After speaking to Dagail and returning to her, Agata will not be surprised:
- Recommendation
- "I take it you've spoken to Dagail? Then you know she is not well. She has visions, for lack of a better term. While they used to be helpful at times, they have lately become problematic. There was an amulet, a family heirloom, that she wore to suppress, and sometimes focus, the visions. She's lost the amulet, and so has lost control."
- Seer's Stone
- "I'm surprised she discussed it with you. She wanted to keep it from the others... I should speak to her about that. Yes, her seer's stone is missing. It's the one thing that has kept her visions at bay, and without it, they're nearly crippling. She can't function. We haven't yet spoken to the others, for fear they would be less than accepting of her situation. Perhaps it is time, though. I will continue to tend to Dagail. Can you speak with the other mages, and find out if any of them have seen the stone?"
- Visions
- "At times, they served her well. She gained something of a reputation in the guild, and was highly valued by the Council. As she aged, the visions became less coherent. Rather than cast her aside, the Council gave her a position here. Some resent her, and wish she'd disappear. I do not. I am proud to help her with her daily tasks."
After speaking to Kalthar, you may report back to Agata:
- Seer's Stone
- "So Kalthar overheard us, did he? That explains why he's been so cranky lately. But we never said anything about Dagail's father. How would he know anything about that? If there's some sort of connection between the seer's stone and Dagail's father, I don't know about it. Maybe if you ask her, it will jog her memory. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye on Kalthar."
Asking about the stone again before speaking to Dagail will have her say:
- "There may be a connection to Dagail's father. Have you spoken to her about it?"
When you retrieve the stone, you can mention it to Agata before returning it:
- "You've found it! Oh, how wonderful! Finally, things can return to normal. By all means, see that it gets to her immediately."
At this point, asking her about the recommendation will have her reply more positively:
- "If you've got the amulet, then Dagail should be able to regain control of her visions. Then I'm sure she can send that recommendation for you."
If you ask her about the recommendation again after first talking with her about it, but before finding the amulet, she will instead say:
- "You'll have to speak to Dagail. I just don't understand what it is she wants."
Dialogue[edit]
The first time you meet her, she will introduce herself by saying:
- "My name is Agata. I'm responsible for enchanted item recharge for the Guild here in Leyawiin."
If you are not yet a member of the Mages Guild, she will strongly recommend you become one:
- "There's no place like it in Cyrodiil; it's truly one-of-a-kind. You should think about joining. Dagail can make you a member, if you like."
When asked about her city of choice, she will fill you in on her "other" function in the guild hall:
- Leyawiin
- "I take care of what little administrative work there is. Dagail isn't interested. I do it because it has to be done, and no one else wants to do it."
She will also provide you with a tip:
- "You may need to ask around, but training in all the schools of magic can be found at our various guild halls."
On the subject of Dagail, she sorrowfully states that:
- Dagail
- "She's led such a troubled life. I just do what I can to make it easier on her."
Rumors[edit]
Her fellow guild members are grateful for her work and will comment about it frequently. S'drassa will tell you:
- "She's been a great help to all of us in the guild. Without her, I think Dagail would be lost at times."
Alves Uvenim shares a similar opinion:
- "Agata is the first person I go to when I need something. Maybe I should talk to Dagail instead, but I just don't feel comfortable doing that."
Even Dagail will be thankful:
- "She may be young, but her heart is old and wise. It guides her well through these troubled times."
Kalthar will also express his gratitude, although with a point of poignancy:
- "She's the one you want to talk to if you actually need something to get done around here. I don't even know why Dagail is still around."
Bugs[edit]
- A combination of her Mysticism skill level of 51 and her total available magicka results in Agata being unable to cast any spell with a magicka cost above 262.

* Indicates spells which cannot be purchased from anyone else, though spells with the same effects at different magnitudes can be purchased elsewhere.
- The magicka cost for most purchasable spells matches the value you would calculate from the Spell Cost equation. In other words, if you were to create the same spell at the Spellmaking Altar, it would have the same magicka cost as the purchasable spell. There are a few exceptions. Spells that are a bad deal, i.e. more expensive than a custom spell, are in red; spells that are a good deal are in green. The magicka cost if you were to create a custom spell at the Spellmaking Altar is shown in parentheses.
- The magicka cost for spells is dependent upon your skill in the school (as modified by Luck, see Magic Overview). The provided baseline values are the magicka cost when your skill level is 33. For other skill levels the magicka cost can be determined from:
Cost * (1.4 - 0.012 * Skill)
- More powerful spells cost more to buy, have a higher skill requirement, and consume more Magicka.
- Level indicates what skill level you must reach (or surpass) in order to use a spell. Skill Level 0-24 = Novice, 25-49 = Apprentice, 50-74 = Journeyman, 75-99 = Expert, 100 = Master.
- The base cost in gold that you must pay to purchase a spell is always three times the current magicka cost of the spell, taking into account your character's skill level and Luck. (The actual cost you pay is further increased based on how well you haggle with the merchant.) Therefore, if you have any Fortify Skill or Fortify Luck spells/potions handy, you can get significantly better deals when purchasing spells.
