Morrowind talk:Willpower
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
I'm wondering if, for example, I have 100 willpower will I also have 100% resist paralysis?
- With 100 willpower you will succeed in gaining 100% resist paralysis when hit by such spells anywhere between 100%+ and 31% of the time.
- This variance is based off the enemies spell casting chance versus your saving chance.
- If the spell hits while in some buggy areas of maps like when standing in water sometimes it wont apply the % spell casting chance and will result in comparing '0% chance to cast' to '125% chance to save' and won't receive a reduction to the saving chance resulting in 125% chance to save.
- So what this translates to is that willpower doesn't guarantee a 100% chance to resist paralysis ever unless you got enough willpower to resist even the most powerful paralysis spells.(as in highest 'chance to cast' paralysis spells in the game.)

- Made some tests.
-
- 100 WIL vs 100 chance = 50% resist chance.
- 200 WIL vs 200 chance = 50% resist chance.
- 100 WIL vs 200 chance = 25% resist chance.
-
- So, resist chance ~ (WIL/2)/CastChance*100.
- There is also LUC, but it's not the usual .5 of the WIL, it seems to be more like .1.
- Also multiply by standard fatigue function in the end.
-
- Silence can't be resisted. Tried at 100 casting chance vs 5000 of every stat - worked every time.
-
- Can anyone confirm?
