Urshilaku Camp

Urshilaku Camp lies in the northwest corner of the Ashlands region, above Foyada Bani-Dad. The easiest way to reach the camp is to head up the foyada from Maar Gan. One could also head east from Khuul, although accessing the foyada from this side is difficult due to the steepness of the terrain. There is a pass on the eastern side of the foyada, located north of two Dwemer ruins which are visible but not accessible from the foyada. Heading east from the pass, there are a few moderate hills, as well as the Daedric shrine of Assurnabitashpi. This shrine is well avoided by any but the hardiest of explorers. Urshilaku Camp lies a short distance beyond the shrine, on the far side.

The Urshilaku are the westernmost of the Ashlander tribes, whose territory covers the northwestern side of Red Mountain. They are ethnologically and culturally interesting, and are perhaps the most traditional of the Ashlander tribes. They maintain a strong link to their cultural past and the traditions of the Dunmer hero Nerevar. Nowhere is the Nerevarine Cult stronger, and Nibani Maesa, the Urshilaku wise woman, is a recognized guardian of the cult along with the Ashkhan of the Urshilaku, Sul-Matuul.

The Urshilaku, like all Ashlanders, are not very open with strangers, but they are not generally hostile if their ways are respected. Understanding Ashlander customs before traveling in this area is advised. Travelers are also advised to take their own supplies, as the camp has only one trader, Kurapli, who has a very limited range of merchandise.
