Grezogbur was an Orc stronghold located in the vicinity of the Nord city of Windhelm in Skyrim.[1]
History[edit]
The exact founding date of the stronghold remains unknown, and very little is known about its history. Grezogbur was active during the Second Era.[1] At some point before or during 2E 582, Fildgor Orcthane managed to assemble a massive army and unite various Orc groups from the distant territories. At that time he retreated to the caverns in Eastmarch to prepare for another attempt to seize the throne of Eastern Skyrim from his brother Jorunn the Skald-King.[2] Fildgor laid waste to the settlement of Grezogbur, situated near Windhelm, as its inhabitants refused to join his cause. In response, Jorunn graciously received the survivors, who then swore their allegiance to him. After the stronghold was sacked, its inhabitants were scattered. Some of them chose to serve the Ebonheart Pact, while a few decided to establish a new clanhold. The majority, however, settled in Skyrim and Morrowind alongside the Nords and Dunmer. In these lands, they pursued peaceful professions such as farming and other non-military activities.[1]
One of its prominent former inhabitants, Hunt-Master Bulozog, was among those who joined the Pact's military. During the Planemeld Obverse, he served as part of the forces stationed in the Imperial City, where he was tasked with managing the base's supplies. He wore Nord armor as a symbol of solidarity with his Pact comrades.[1]
