Oblivion Pictures[edit]
Why are these listed as Lore-Race images? Except for the Sload picture, these are from the Oblivion manual--shouldn't they be called "Oblivion-Race Images"?
Here's the manual online for reference: http://cdn.bethsoft.com/bethsoft.com/manuals/Oblivion/obliv_goty_pc_manual-EN-v1.pdf

- I believe it is dependent on the namespace they were uploaded to be used in, rather than the game they are from. Since these images were primarily uploaded for use in the Lorespace, they were uploaded as Lore images. --Enodoc (talk) 18:44, 15 September 2014 (GMT)

- There's a lot of cover art and concept art in game specific namespaces throughout the wiki though that doesn't appear in the games. What exactly is the standard that we're using? Those images do come specifically from official Oblivion-related content, so it'd make sense to at least add an Oblivion namespace category to each of those images--even if it's important for whatever reason to give them a lore label, images can have more than one category if need be. On that note, why are these images used as the primary frame in Morrowind's and Skyrim's race pages? It'd be much better to use race images specific to each respective game than to use the pictures that were taken specifically from the Oblivion manual. Vellup (talk) 21:55, 15 September 2014 (GMT)

- Images were named for where they are documented, but we've moved to naming them for the game they are involved with. These images are heavily linked so moving them would require a lot of effort for minimal gain (they aren't 'wrongly' named). Skyrim has no race images as far as I'm aware, and until the Morrowind ones were uploaded yesterday I had no idea there were ones for it. There may be issues with using them as the manuals are not always owned solely or at all by Bethesda, or they don't allow its use by certain sites. - Looking over the manuals for both Oblivion and Morrowind, neither seems to have any differences in ownership as far as I can tell--just Bethesda and Zenimax. The other ownerships are connected with the game itself. So using images from one shouldn't be any more illegal than using images from the other. On that note, I actually propose that we switch the race pictures on the Morrowind pages to use the art from the Morrowind manual, as opposed to using pictures from the Oblivion manual, for starters. - The images from the morrowind manual really aren't high quality images. They are much, much smaller than what we usually require and they are .png when we usually request .jpg. The ones currently used are sufficient, especially given the quality of the manual ones. Jeancey (talk) 23:10, 15 September 2014 (GMT)
