Detailed Walkthrough

This quest is started through the Town Gossip topic, after you've gained 5 points of Leyawiin reputation. Someone has been raiding N'ursa's strawberries at night. She can be found at the outdoor market during the day, so go talk to her; she'll tell you that when she confronted the thief one night, it scared the life out of her and ran off. So, your first task is to stake out the house.

You cannot be in the yard when you wait - you have to wait outside the fence, or the goblin won't appear. It'll show up around midnight; once you spot it, it will run off and you'll get a journal update. The cave itself is not far off, near the city wall. Approach the entrance to get another journal update.

At this point, you'll have to talk to various guards; one of them (random) will point you to Carmina. She'll give you a potion to drive the goblin off, and another to shrink you so you can enter the lair. Search around; you'll find various junk, a few valuables, and a book. Take the bookm, and you'll get a journal update telling you to take it to Janar the Philosopher. He'll make some comments about it, and the quest will be complete.

If for some reason you refuse N'ursa, you'll lose 1 point of Leyawiin reputation, which can affect further quests.

5		Something strange happened to N'ursa, the Khajiit in the market. She was frightened by a monster that knocked her off her feet. Plus, something happened to her famous strawberries. I should assist her.
10		N'ursa told me about the incident. The monster was small, but very strong and roared at her. On N'ursa's clothes there were traces of berries from the collision with the monster. I'll try hiding at night not far from N'ursa's home and watch for anyone there.
20		So that's the monster! Just a small goblin, I wonder how it got inside the city walls. Goblins can be dangerous, I need to find its lair quickly.
30		I found the entrance to the goblin lair, but it is very small and I can't climb in. Somehow I need to lure the goblin out of the hole and make him leave the city, or kill him if he doesn't want to leave. But who would tell me how to lure him out? I'll start working on it.
40		The guards will not deal with a little goblin. They sent me to Carmina the Herbalist. She, they say, will help.
45		Carmina suggested I use a mixture with a strange odour that goblins can't stand. Indeed, the mixture smells terribly unpleasant.
50		I have poured the smelly mixture at the entrance of the little goblin's lair, which should cause the goblin to abandon its lair. I will need to check that the goblin has left, maybe Carmina will have some suggestions how I can do that, since I cannot get into the lair?
55		Carmina gave me a new potion. I have to drink it at the hole to get inside and inspect the little thief's dwelling.
60		I'm near the hole. It's time to drink the potion. Ewwww... disgusting!
65
70		It is immediately obvious that the goblin was dragging all sorts of things in here. Full of rubbish and dirt. Although .... It's worth searching the hole thoroughly, maybe I'll find something interesting.
80		A most amusing book was found in the hole. Did this little goblin write poetry? I think this is the most valuable treasure I could find here. It's time to tell N'ursa about the results.
90		N'ursa was grateful for my help and shared her delicious strawberries with me. Nice cat. And her product is excellent. I'm going to show the goblin's book to Janar the Philosopher, If anyone can appreciate it, he will.
100	Finishes quest	Janar got me thinking. The goblin probably won't return to town, but I'm glad I didn't kill him, or even hurt him too much. After all, if a little goblin wrote poetry, then he is more than just a creature.
110	Finishes quest	Alas, N'ursa is dead. I feel sorrow for this kind cat.
120	Finishes quest	I will not help N'ursa.

• Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
