UOL or No?[edit]

Seems to me this should be cited as official lore, since it was found inside Bethesda offices alongside concept art. Mindtrait0r (talk) 17:30, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

Yea it's Morrowind Concept Art, seen on the War Room wall at the time. Official in my eyes --ErfXploded (talk) 17:45, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
Concept art is, by definition, considered UOL since things often change before release (same reasoning as to why PTS info for ESO isn't allowed in lore, because things change). If the information is ONLY found in the concept art, then it was clearly removed/not included in the game, and thus isn't OL for lore purposes.
Technically it shouldn't be used at all, since it falls under this: "Pre-Release Content: Information from unreleased games or DLC should not be included in the main text of lore articles or have separate lore entries. Links to relevant gamespace pages can still be added to summary tables and the See Also section. This is to avoid adding information which is liable to change, and to maintain the quality of the article until an editor with a full understanding of the subject can update it. Articles which deal with pre-release content can be sandboxed until the game is released. The addition of relevant concept art to image sections is allowable provided it is marked as such."
But I think in this instance it fits better under the UOL rules than disallowing it altogether, since the concept art part of the pre-release section wasn't really written to deal with concept art with text on it. Jeancey (talk) 17:57, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
Gotcha, thanks Mindtrait0r (talk) 18:22, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
