Dexion Thrall Bug[edit]

I've encountered a bug where I use Vampire Seduction on the guy and get the message to feed on him and make him my thrall. I click "feed" and go through the animation, my vampirism reverts to level 1 from feeding...but nothing happens. He's not my thrall and still gives the same dialogue options. If anyone knows which quest stage I need to type in to progress via console, please let me know. That writeup is confusing. :( 99.127.173.78 22:53, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Another bug in this quest[edit]

I was able to make Dexion my thrall, but after telling him to return to the castle, Serana attacked him while he tried to run away. He managed to escape in the end, but when I got back to the castle myself, everyone there started attacking him too. I haven't worked out yet how to stop everyone from attacking him. Any suggestions would be welcome. 60.242.5.74 07:50, 30 September 2012 (GMT)

Other players have reported similar issues on the Dawnguard version of this quest. Obviously, the situation is a little different in that case, but a couple of the suggested fixes there which may work for you if you're playing on PC are to use the console to either add him to your faction, or set his aggression value to 0. Hope this helps. If you're playing on XBox, you may wish to add the bug to the page and hopefully someone will come along with a suggested fix. — ABCface 20:32, 30 September 2012 (GMT)

Forcing through if you can't cast Seduction[edit]

I ran into this as I'm running Power of Blood mod, which unfortunately replaced Seduction with a passive Speech skill boost.

In the console:

player.setstage DLC1VQ03Vampire 70
(now target Dexion when he's lying on the ground waiting for your Seduction)
resurrect

He should spring to his feet and you can talk to him now, as if you had cast the spell as originally intended. Enjoy! 24.126.135.107 05:40, 4 November 2012 (GMT)

*possible* fix for glitch where Dexion won't finish reading the scroll[edit]

I found that if you use the shout Whirlwind Sprint and hit him (this may take several tries) it will force him to lower the scroll and allow you to progress with the quest. Note: Do NOT use aggressive actions against him (Unrelenting Force, magic, ect...) as this will cause the other vampires to attack him. — Unsigned comment by 108.181.116.69 (talk) at 06:53 on 15 November 2012

Seduction[edit]

"If you do not possess the power Vampire's Seduction when you are required to enthrall Dexion Evicus, it will be granted to you temporarily in order to perform this task, then disappear."

It might be worth mentioning that, even if you normally have it, Vampire's Seduction isn't available until you defeat the priest, probably to keep you from "wasting" the once-a-day power before you need it. The thing is, Vampire's Seduction wasn't just greyed out, it was missing completely from my list of powers. That gave me a scare but it reappeared after we beat the priest. — Unsigned comment by 98.160.100.108 (talk) at 21:39 on 11 April 2013‎

Good to know. I'll update the article. --Xyzzy Talk 18:57, 13 June 2013 (GMT)
I added a vn tag to the note because it would be nice to know exactly when Seduction becomes unavailable. --Xyzzy Talk 19:02, 13 June 2013 (GMT)

Can you check an earlier save and make sure that your character normally has Vampire Seduction? If you don't have it, you're supposed to get it temporarily after defeating the Moth Priest in combat, while he is kneeling in front of you. If you normally have it, it may be missing from your list of usable powers until you can use it on him. --Xyzzy Talk 18:57, 13 June 2013 (GMT)

Curing vampirism[edit]

If you have been cured of vampirism, you will need to ask Serana to make you a vampire again, then wait for 24 hours to regain the power.

Yes, you can be cured of vampirism at this point in time by asking Aela to restore your lycanthropy (if you ever had it), or by completing the quest Rising at Dawn. --Xyzzy Talk 19:34, 18 August 2013 (GMT)

can not use vampire seduce.[edit]

I have Vampire Seduction high lighted, but will not fire. I have noticed that when I have something in the hand I am using, whatever spell or item in that hand will work, but not Vampire Seduction. When I empty that hand I go into defensive posture or barehanded brawl when Vampire Seduction is highlighted.
